Hiya, 2 more questions – sorry for the bombardment!
1. Is it possible to set a Page as the 404?
2. Is it possible to set a Page for ‘search results’, or is there any style for the search results that doesn’t show the date the page/post was created?October 31, 2016 at 6:43 pm #299671Hi,
1) You can use some shortcodes in the 404 page content option

October 31, 2016 at 7:03 pm #299678Hi Rui, the main issue on the 404 was that I wanted to set a hero image, I guess this isn’t possible?
No worries about the search results, I can write the CSS for this. It would be nice to have though if you ever consider it for an update!
October 31, 2016 at 8:32 pm #299699Maybe you can use an image banner shortcode in a full width row and if necessary to hide something above we can do it with css.
First do the desire content in a draft page and then copy the shortcodes to the 404 option, and let us know the result and if you need further help.

November 1, 2016 at 10:58 am #299737Hi Rui – that seems like way too much effort – I’ll make do with the plain banner.
Because I can’t hide the author & dates of content in the search results, I’ve been changing the author of all non blog-content to a generic name. Unfortunately I can’t work out how to change the author of my portfolio items – would you be able to advise on how to do this?

November 1, 2016 at 11:35 am #299748If you want to hide only the author of the portfolio results use this one.
.search-results .type-portfolio .blog-item-details { display: none; }
To change the portfolio to a new author just do a bulk edit of all portfolio items that will save you some time.

November 1, 2016 at 12:01 pm #299755Hi Rui, I tried the bulk edit of the portfolio items but there’s option to change author like there is on posts or pages – and no other options under ‘Screen Options’ (see screenshot). I’m happy to use the CSS but it would be good to have a long-term solution.

Hiding it with css will be the best solution.-Rui
