    Hiya, 2 more questions – sorry for the bombardment!

    1. Is it possible to set a Page as the 404?
    2. Is it possible to set a Page for ‘search results’, or is there any style for the search results that doesn’t show the date the page/post was created?

    Hi,

    1) You can use some shortcodes in the 404 page content option

    2)No it’s no possible by default, we can hide it with some css if you need to.

    Hi Rui, the main issue on the 404 was that I wanted to set a hero image, I guess this isn’t possible?

    No worries about the search results, I can write the CSS for this. It would be nice to have though if you ever consider it for an update!

    Maybe you can use an image banner shortcode in a full width row and if necessary to hide something above we can do it with css.

    First do the desire content in a draft page and then copy the shortcodes to the 404 option, and let us know the result and if you need further help.

    Hi Rui – that seems like way too much effort – I’ll make do with the plain banner.

    Because I can’t hide the author & dates of content in the search results, I’ve been changing the author of all non blog-content to a generic name. Unfortunately I can’t work out how to change the author of my portfolio items – would you be able to advise on how to do this?

    Hey Rui, the issue is that I still want the author showing on ‘Posts’, I don’t mind it showing on Portfolio, just they’re all authored by me (Aime Cox-Tennant) and I’d rather they were authored by Studio Cotton (if they have to be authored by anyone).

    If you want to hide only the author of the portfolio results use this one.

    .search-results .type-portfolio .blog-item-details {
        display: none;
    }

    To change the portfolio to a new author just do a bulk edit of all portfolio items that will save you some time.

    Hi Rui, I tried the bulk edit of the portfolio items but there’s option to change author like there is on posts or pages – and no other options under ‘Screen Options’ (see screenshot). I’m happy to use the CSS but it would be good to have a long-term solution.

    I thought that the author was possible to change that way, guess not.
    Hiding it with css will be the best solution.
