    Howdy,

I’m struggling with inserting anchor/jump links into toggles. Any suggestions on how to do so without breaking the code?

    Thanks,
    Maggie

    Hi Maggie,

Adding a named anchor and linking to it inside toggles works perfectly fine (just tested) – maybe you have invalid HTML code in there?

    Hi Cosmin,

Can you give me an example of where the link in the toggle goes and the proper HTML? We have someone helping us and it seems like there are some inconsistencies in the ways that people use ‘ vs ” in different places. I tried adding something in the toggle title and it took out the title:
[vc_toggle title=”Class Roster with Photos” open=”false” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] Where roster is the named anchor.

Thank you for your assistance, I really appreciate it.

    Maggie

    Hi Maggie,

Please use the Page Builder, edit the toggle, switch to text view and create the anchor and link there.

This would be a named anchor:

<a name="myanchor">you can even have text inside it</a>

And this is how you link to it:

    <a href="#myanchor">Link to my anchor</a>

Of course, it needs to be far enough down the page in order for the browser to scroll to it.

    Regards,

    Ok, so ” not ‘
Also, doesn’t there need to be a # before the name of the anchor?

    Thanks again.

No, name=”” must not have a # in it. Only when you link to it, you add that #

If you were to add a # like this: name=”#anchor”, then you would need to link to it like this: href=”##anchor”

Ok, thanks, and again… when I follow your directions:
“Please use the Page Builder, edit the toggle, switch to text view and create the anchor and link there.”

I get the attached view. If I add what you’ve instructed above to the toggle title in the toggle title section, it clears the toggle title when the page is updated.

Thanks again, and I appreciate your patience.

This will not work in the toggle’s title. It can only work in the content.
