BTW that doesn’t work – I get the same failure message and in my log is the following:
(70014)End of file found: mod_fcgid: can’t get data from http client, referer: http://www.xxxxxxxxx/wp-admin/network/theme-install.php?uploadthanks Mohammad – should I change it back after update to something else for security reasons?
Thanks folks,
6 month support turnaround is better late than never! 🙂
Obviously the bump last week was useful…
thewooshHi,
Yes I resolved the issue – it was down to some malformed css (always check css on a checker first!).
I can add links to the testimonial, but they will be circular when the testimonial is viewed on the testimonial page – It would be good if the testimonial slider had the option to link through tho the testimonial page… and also good if you could change the speed of the testimonial slider – bit useless otherwise…Great theme though – keep up the good work!
CheersOK
I would like to apologise for doubting your amazing theme…I tracked the CSS problem down to some malformed CSS that I had entered in the custom CSS box – a lesson to me to always check my syntax first – a missing quote mark was causing (the more tolerant) mozkit browsers to simply ignore that clause, while firefox and IE were just throwing out all subsequent declarations.
I will raise the remaining items (Testimonials slider) in a seperate thread.

Please see my cross-post http://support.swiftideas.net/forums/topic/help-with-css-problems-please-and-some-others/
…for follow up to this – the problem still persists and looks like it’s on your end…Hi,
In order to eliminate any variables, I created a new installation of WordPress (set up as multisite) on my PC, and installed flexform and imported the site and settings.
I de-activated all plugins and created a page that used the ‘impact-text’ style, for which I included the following CSS in the custom CSS section:
.impact-text {
font-size:14-x !important;
}
I attach a side-by-side comparison of firefox and chrome rendering this page. As you can see, Chrome renders the custom CSS, but firefox ignores it.I hope you can address this problem.
Many Thanks
AndyHi Cosmin – thanks so much for responding.
I have a vanilla Apache 2 and vanilla wordpress 3.5 installed – I haven’t implemented any caching, so as far as I know there is no server-side caching active. The CSS problem between browsers has been persistent over the last week or so since implementing custom CSS, so I don’t think it is a caching issue. It occurs both on custom CSS entered in theme general options and with a child site with custom style.css.As you may have noticed I have removed much of the test data from the site as it is soon to go live, but you can see the effect more clearly on the child site example:
http://www.interxmedia.co.uk/tanshirepark_bak/test-2/
…this shows the difference between the way the moz-kit browsers display my custom style.css on ‘Impact Text’ and the others don’t…In the meantime I have fixed problem 4 above and come to grips with 5
Thanks for the links on tinymce will check them out…
Cheers,
AndyJuly 23, 2013 at 8:30 am in reply to: Please respond to this major issue with cross-browser CSS… #12571I have modified the css in style.css for ‘impact-text’ on http://www.interxmedia.co.uk/tanshirepark_bak so you should really clearly be able to see the difference I am talking about!
July 23, 2013 at 8:18 am in reply to: Please respond to this major issue with cross-browser CSS… #12570Hi Cosmin – Please don’t abandon this thread – sorry the problem wasn’t showing when you looked (damn!)
http://www.interxmedia.co.uk/tanshirepark_bak/ – the child theme with the css amends in style.css instead of in the custom css field, is now back to how it was.
So as with the main site http://www.interxmedia.co.uk/tanshirepark/ the css amends only work in webkit-based browsers…
This seems like a major problem to me
July 22, 2013 at 6:19 pm in reply to: Please respond to this major issue with cross-browser CSS… #12523Sorry you’re right – try looking at http://www.interxmedia.co.uk/tanshirepark/ (the original url i gave is a child theme, and as you say, they now appear identical – none of my custom CSS in style.css is working on any browser!)
On this version, I have custom CSS in the theme general settings and in chrome I get a purple background to the top slider (when wide enough window), and the top and bottom padding on the testimonial slider is is reduced.
Also on http://www.interxmedia.co.uk/tanshirepark/gallery/ the font and layout of the caption text is completely different…
I realise that fonts are a Chrome issue – that’s not my problem.
Many Thanks
I found that I can change html tags (like h1), but if I try to change a class, it doesn’t work (except in webkit browsers like Chrome & safari). Does your experience match this?
Cheers,
AndyHi Michell
This looks like a similar problem to one I am having…
If I add custom css to modify a class (using !important), it works only in Chrome and Safari and not in Firefox or IE. Have you tried viewing your page in different browsers? I would be interested to know if you find the same thing…
I have found that if I use custom CSS to modify an HTML element (ie ‘H1’ or ‘p’) it works OK, it is only when I attempt to modify a class that the problem arises.BTW you can see an example of the first instance of problem 1 here:
http://www.interxmedia.co.uk/tanshirepark/terms/
… this text has been styled as impact_text. The custom css is being applied in Chrome and Safari but not in IE or Firefox… -
