Mohammad this is not a plugin conflict at all. I have gone through and deactivated every plugin already and the menu problem remains. The site is effectively impossible to navigate in this way, please advise.

sorry wrong lead, doesn’t have anything to do with css classes. Very mysterious.

and it is no longer showing “CSS Classes” under the options on the left, which may be related to this problem. The top level menu items were CSS Classes labels, then pages linked beneath them. CSS Classes have disappeared, so the top level items have simply vanished. It’s the second level items that are showing as top level now because of this.

Never mind, got it. It was a conflict with nextgen gallery settings.
