OK. Seems some Google Fonts work. Others, for whatever reason, do not work. The Google Font I was attempting to use, Open Sans 800 Italic, does not work when I select it, nowhere in the site. No change. But when I select some of the other Google Fonts, they do work like they should.
So, I guess some of the Google Fonts are off limits, certainly Open Sans 800 Italic is, but that’s OK as long as some of the Google Fonts do work, at least I have some options.

Hey, I’m using the Ultimate Coming Soon Page WP Plug-in, so you can’t see the changes. Selecting Google Fonts and then selecting a font from the dropdowns does not work; the fonts do not change. I just disabled the Coming Soon plug-in to confirm. Have to re-enable it because my site is not ready, but maybe I can PM you my log-in and you can see that the Google Fonts do not work.
Can someone else here try it on their site and confirm that the Google Fonts (just using the dropdown menu, not having to add any code) work / don’t work?
Tx
Still looking for an answer to this. Do I just switch from Standard to Google, and then select my Google Font from the dropdown menu and it’s supposed to work? Or is there something else I need to do. I’m a noob at this.
