The page does look better, thank you. The sidebar widget buddypress titles still don’t show up though. Weird.
OK – child theme is gone. Now just using Parent. Seems some of the BP styling is fixed, but the member profile page is still strange looking: – you’ll have to log in and visit the developer profile – but only if you have info put in will you see the styling issues. Also – the sidebar titles still aren’t showing up.
It’s been a weird Monday.

You must be logged in to view attached files.I had a local developer helping with some extra stuff. I just had him remove the “hooks” he had added the pertained to buddypress. We still have the same styling issues though. Should I just turn off the child theme? I haven’t fixed the widgets yet, just in case we went this route. Will going back to the parent theme only become weird with future updates? Any and all styling done has been through the Custom CSS panel – those should stay during theme updates, right? If so, make more sense to just use the Parent theme and call it a day vs. spending hours on fixing things right now. Agree?
Ugh!! – It seems when you activated the Parent theme and then reactivated the child theme – ALL of the custom sidebar content became Inactive – losing every single custom sidebar placement we had done.
Any chance to log in and take a look at these buddypress styling issues?
Thanks,
KendallSo to recap – it’s the buddypress pages where the styling is messed up.
1. the main groups page as well as individual group pages
2. User profile page
3. The sidebar widgets aren’t showing the titles
4. On the member profiles page – there are words at the top: Contact, Sharing, Interests, Involvement, Opt Outs – but I removed these from the buddypress settings as I’ve reset them to others – so not sure where these are set. And it seems like they are supposed to be in a tab format but are just a list.I wanted to raise these concerns with you first before I went and did a bunch of CSS fixes.
Thanks,
KendallThis reply has been marked as private. This reply has been marked as private.I have added a lot of custom CSS – but not really for the buddypress pages. Also, the profile pages don’t look right. The buddypress side bars also don’t show the title like they do in your demo. All the styling just seems off and before I went and added a bunch of custom CSS – I thought I’d ask about it.
Thanks,
KendallSite should be ok to check now – needed to shut off a plugin
I have the same issue – but it seems like what the html shows is the Custom CSS code we have added. Is there a way to hide it?
That didn’t work: http://www.prsaboston.net/prsa-preview/user-groups/young-professionals-network-ypn/ the spacing is still off
Our main group page showing all the groups looks similiar, it’s the page once you click on a group where things are messed up. This is how your demo looks: http://cardinal.swiftideas.com/buddypress-demo/groups/web-design-group/ but on ours the home, members, etc buttons are shifted up into the group description.
When logged in as an editor – there wasn’t access to WooCommerce, Gravity forms or Job Listings (WP Job Listings) – all things the client will need access to.
Or, is there a way to give the Author level access to those missing pieces?
