I did but still looked like crap on smaller screen sizes. So I added this:

I did all of that, and still doesnt work.

It works fine in your desktop browser but doesnt look very good a smaller resolutions. It works great on your demo at smaller resolutions.

Also, there is a small button that appears in chrome that doesnt appear on your demo. how do I get rid of that? See attached.

Mine happened it Mac Safari, firefox, opera, and chrome.
