Hi Melanie,
I got it working. The problem was that our usernames were email addresses and therefore had dot ‘.’ characters. The user_nicename also had dot. Something in the WordPress code does not deal with that properly. I changed in the user_nicename in the database to remove the dot and not things are working fine.
thanks,
-pavan vermaHi Melanie,
here are a couple of findings.
1. Disabling the “Advanced Permalinks” changed the target of the “View all posts by <Author>” link to http://blog.p3infotech.in/author/<username>/ (eg. http://blog.p3infotech.in/author/abijithp3infotech.in/). However, this link returns a 404.
2. If I go to “Settings -> Permalinks” and change it to “Default”, the “View all posts by <Author>” changes to http://blog.p3infotech.in/?author=<userid> (eg. http://blog.p3infotech.in/?author=7). This link works. But, I do not want this permalink structure for my posts.
I am not a WordPress expert. Request someone from your team to please help me out with this.
thanks,
-pavan vermaHi Melanie,
I am the owner of http://blog.p3infotech.in and would like to get a closure on this problem we have. As mentioned above, the link “View all posts by <Author>” takes the link to http://blog.p3infotech.in/ which is not the correct thing.I can provide you a login account on the site. Could you please tell me how I can communicate the login credentials to you in a secure manner. Thanks!
