Hi again,
I tried disabling all plugins except for Woocommerce, which resulted in the magnify icon completely disappearing. However the icon came back when I re-activated my the plugins and the issue is still the same.
I need the plugins I have right activated right now as these are my ‘payment’ plugin and ‘currency converter’ plugin.
Let me know if you need more info from me.
All the best, Nik

This you definitely can. This is something you do in WooCommerce when setting up a product. You just create the product as a variable and add attributes, such as size and color.
Hope this answered your question
