    FW Video links:
Everything shows as it should and looks like it’s going to work, but you can tap the play button until your finger falls off, it won’t play the video – it appears to be just a static thumbnail with no functionality. Were you able to try it for yourself with your demo vids?

‘Have you updated to the latest revslider within the sticky topic?’ – sorry, I’m not sure what you mean, what sticky topic? Currently my revslider is showing as v4.3.0.

Any thoughts on the underline link on hover, in the same browser? Not a major problem, just one I’d like to stomp out if if poss.

    Cheers.

I just wondering if it might be an compatibility issue with Dante & RevSlider? You’ve dealt with the issue before, so seeing another example of it probably isn’t going to help – besides, as I said above, I’ve fixed the issues by targeting them specifically with CSS.

I’m really only asking 2 things:

    1) Is there a compatibility issue with Dante & RevSlider, causing it to convert % into px?
    2) Is it normal for RevSlider to ignore the max width if set within the edit window, or is there a problem with my install?

    Thanks

I’m sorry I don’t have a link for you. I have hacked something together and it looks fine where it is, so seeing it won’t help. The trouble is, if I use the form elsewhere it doesn’t expand to fit as I want it to because I don’t think I’ve done coded it correctly.

I need an input field and submit button to take up 100% of their containing div, however wide the container. At the moment my input field is set to 75% so that the button sits alongside, any wider and it pushes the button below. Should I be using display:inline or inline-block or something?

    Thanks

    Hi Ed,

No need, it does exactly the same on your demo site too… For the record though, I should be on the latest version of everything – as follows:
    WP – v3.9.1
    Dante V2.61

FYI the same Android browser effects my RevSlider’s layout too (it’s mostly ok in FF) – any suggestions you have to fix that would also be appreciated. The issue concerns a tiny image positioned within some text. The image shows up in the preview when added within the text itself, as an image tag , but it doesn’t show up in the Android browser. My work-around is to add the image on a separate layer, leaving a space within the text for it to show through. Within both the Android and FF mobile browsers, the image moves out of alignment, breaking the design. I was thinking of putting the image on a transparent png that’s the full size of the slider, but I don’t think this will work as the slider’s responsive… Any thoughts how to fix this?

I haven’t provided a link because I working on the pages these issues concern, so they’re constantly changing. If you need to see an example, I could place the slider and video links onto a separate page for you – but the video issue happens with your site too.

    Many thanks!

I don’t have a link for you, but it’s a simple input field with a button on the same line to the right (see grab). I don’t want the field to have a fixed width as I will use it in more than one place, so the field should extend to fit.

    I hope that makes sense.

You mean the ‘holding page’ template? Thanks for pointing that out – yes, I’ve seen that and it removes the header, footer and sub-footer. Is there an easy way to restore the sub-footer when using that template – it’s a good place to add some navigation to the main site, without it being too obvious and distracting from the purpose of the landing page?

    No worries if not poss.

    I know – I don’t want much do I? šŸ˜‰

Thanks for jumping in Ed, much appreciated šŸ™‚

Just to clarify (and in case anyone else reads this), the attached file is a direct replacement for the earlier template for narrow sidebar pages, posted by Mohammad. I can see some differences in the code, so I’ll use this one instead – thank you.

Any chance of a template that removes the header and footer like the ‘coming soon’ and ā€˜maintenance modeā€™ pages shown on your demo (ideally I’d like to keep the sub-footer). Or is that a trickier customisation? Just thought it’d be good for anyone wanting to recreate those pages, or for use with landing pages, etc.

If not, no worries, I’ll do it manually – just thought I’d ask.

    Thanks anyway!

No problem. If you could just check it, as your earlier comment suggests it shouldn’t work, but it does seem to. I just want to be sure that it is working/coded correctly and that I haven’t used a broken template to my site.

    Many thanks.

The issue is that the file you supplied does not contain the class name “container”, which you say should break the layout. Please look at the code you supplied (link above is still live), I am using it unaltered.

    Thanks for answering.

On point 2 – it doesn’t seem to break the page, but I’m concerned that I might be missing something less obvious. Please take a look at the file, it was supplied by you for use with Dante, and I’m guessing there are a few people on this forum using it (sidebars are pretty big otherwise).

You can find it here – http://support.swiftideas.net/forums/topic/sidebar-2/

    Thanks.

Thanks for the cut & paste, but I didn’t make a customisation request.

I would however, still like an answer to my questions – I’ve asked 4 times in this thread, please answer the following.

    1) Do custom templates need to be updated following theme or WP updates?
    2) Does it makes any difference not having <div class=ā€containerā€> included in the file template-page2.php, downloaded from this forum?

I don’t think the questions are that tricky and both relate to a template downloaded from this forum – please advise.

    Thanks.

Thanks but I already had that code, I was looking for a way to set it up as a template so that I could reuse it easily.

You still haven’t answered my other 2 questions…

    Screenshot as requested.

Please don’t forget to feedback on the other 2 points.

    Thanks

    Hi Mohammad,

Thanks for your reply – I’m not sure what screenshot you need, can you explain? I just need a normal page, minus header, footer but keeping the sub-footer. What’s the best way to achieve this?

    Please also feedback on:
    1) whether custom templates need to be updated following theme or WP updates
    2) whether it makes any difference not having <div class=ā€containerā€> included in the file template-page2.php, downloaded from this forum.

    Many thanks.
