Thank you. I was enquiring prior to buying a new copy of Cardinal in order to do a new project, so I don’t have a page yet. Can I write you back here when I do?

January 9, 2015 at 1:43 am in reply to: mouseover title effect on images – what about tablets? #140244Thanks. It would be a really great feature to add, since this is a factor that limits design options. If the image titles appear on desktop, but fail to appear on tablet/phone, then from my perspective (the perspective of the end-user) they are not valid options to use. Since typically 50% or more of visits come from mobile devices, features need to work on all platforms. I can’t have half the visitors not seeing the titles of images, or being frustrated because they can’t browse a gallery.
I want to buy a 2nd copy of Cardinal for this new site, but without this feature, I won’t be able to — I’ll have to use a theme like Avada instead.
Can you let me know what the developers say? I’m anxious to know if I’ll be able to use your theme for my new site or not.January 8, 2015 at 8:01 pm in reply to: mouseover title effect on images – what about tablets? #140184Here is a replacement for the screen shot that exceeded your file size limit.

I looked at the code and saw it was Avada from Themeforest.
January 8, 2015 at 7:44 pm in reply to: mouseover title effect on images – what about tablets? #140180If you go here on a tablet, you will see that on touch devices it responds to the first click by displaying the info, then the 2nd click acts as the actual link click.

If you go there on a laptop, you will see that it mouseovers as usual. This is their regular demo — no special coding has been done. This is the Avada theme I mentioned. So somehow they alter the mouseover behavior to be friendly for touch devices.
That works! Thank you.

Let’s start over. Imagine it’s not quotes. Imagine it’s lots of short messages. Some may have images, some not. Some may need different backgrounds. All need to be responsive, and use a custom typeface added via Punchfonts. So what I’m looking for is advice on which of the included sliders handles multiple typefaces and typography the best. Swiftslider is too basic for this, so that narrows down the field a little, but I’d rather not have to test all of them, and I want to limit the amount of code that has to load to keep the site fast.
Thank you.I used the correct pagebuilder widget. I determined the problem was that I put the entire short code into the widget, instead of just the name of the short code. The extra symbols in the shortcode broke the page.
(PS: this is what the Meetup.com logo looks like)

Thank you, that is great!
Do you have any suggestions about the desire to add a floating background image behind the quote, positioned in the left third of the container? Is there a particular div that we could attach an image to?
Sure. I’m testing the site/theme here:
http://learnfromyourlife.com/ss7/#You will see a red band with the testimonials halfway down the page.
BTW, I assigned a custom class to the row container but not sure if that’s even the right thing to target. That custom class name is “richard-quote”
