    But it’s clearly related to the theme, see my description above. If I change the theme (on my local version of WordPress/Apache) the problem disappears.

    This isn’t a screen display issue as much as a performance issue. If I refresh the homepage ONCE, I see the following in my access.log file:

    127.0.0.1 – – [04/Jun/2015:13:09:15 -0400] “GET / HTTP/1.1” 200 51674
    127.0.0.1 – – [04/Jun/2015:13:09:16 -0400] “GET / HTTP/1.1” 200 51674

    Why would this page get loaded twice? I change the theme from Flexform to 2015 and I see only a single access:

    127.0.0.1 – – [04/Jun/2015:13:11:44 -0400] “GET / HTTP/1.1” 200 29750

    Please confirm that you don’t see this behavior on your systems. Then, give me your thoughts on what I might do to fix it on my servers.

    I did that already, all plug-ins are disabled.
