Let me know if you received the reply. I sent it as a private reply.

Not sure how that function works on your end. Cheers!

Thanks Melanie! That makes a lot more sense, however, that doesn’t appear to be working for me.

Perhaps there is a bug there?

    Hi Melanie,

If this is the case, then the demo home page does not visibly appear to make sense to me. Under “Editor’s Pick’s” the featured posts appear to all be from the parent category, “Art & Design.” However, under “Daily News” posts are being featured from both the parent categories of “Lifestyle” & “Entertainment.” If I can only choose a specific category in either Blog Post Carousel or Recent Posts, then how do you have posts from two different parent categories being displayed?

Here’s what I’m trying to do as a travel blogger. I have the following parent categories:

    -Travel Destinations
    -Canada
    -Ontario
    -Toronto
    -British Columbia
    Travel Experiences
    Reviews
    – Hostels
    – Hotels
    – Cities

I want to be able to feature articles in the blog post carousel that are labelled (colour label) from all three main parent categories. For example, I want a post from Toronto (dark green), Hostels (blue), experience (purple). Similar to what you have setup in the demo. While I understand the demo carousel is connected to only one parent category, the recent posts element contains blog posts from two different parent categories. I want to be able to do this in both the recent post element and blog post carousel element.

Based on looking at the Recent Posts element in an empty page, I can only see it set to one specific category as you mentioned. However, as I pointed out, your demo home page is different. How am I able to accomplish my desired action?

I’m trying to use the “Home” page template, provided in the theme, as my own Home Page. Perhaps am looking at or referring to the wrong page provided in the template to achieve what the demo home page is doing?

    Your assistance is appreciated.
