Sorry thats not what I am looking achieve. I simply want to have the copy in black (#111), no change in background color. I’ve tried putting color: #111 !important but I think there must be some Javascript or an RGBA color with opacity added to the ::before state of the element.

Before I upgraded it was simply #111 so its kind of broken the design as a result of upgrading.

I upgraded to 1.9.2 but I still had the same problem. Additionally the vertical scrollbar disappears on webkit browsers so had to downgrade.

Thanks for your very quick response!

The image on the homepage is set to parallax. Enclosed is a screen shot of the settings I have. I have noticed that the grey border comes in at a certain width on my monitor (22″) so you may need to resize your screen to see what I’m talking about!
