That worked! Thank you so much!

Thank you so much! That got the form working in the page that you set up. My ultimate issue (and hopefully the last one to work through) as you can see from the post at the top of this page is that I am trying to implement this form within a modal. I dropped the Raw HTML and Raw JS into an SPB section since page builder assets are not available within text blocks/modals. I was instructed to use this shortcode to call up the SPB section within the modal: [spb_section spb_section_id=”14915″ width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”]
When I do that with the updated SPB section, the modal button goes inactive–nothing happens when you click on it other than #modal-1 being added to the address bar of my browser. When I delete the shortcode and/or put the iframe code back in, the button works again and the modal appears.
Thanks

Thanks for taking a look at it. That SPB section called “Subscribe Bar” currently employs the iframe method, which is working. However, I am trying to use the MailChimp embed code directly in WordPress/Page Builder so I don’t have to open up, edit, and upload a separate HTML file.
Previously, it was determined that the Page Builder system was stripping the form tags from the MailChimp embed code, which killed the form’s functionality. I guess fixing that is in the works in a future update.
The workaround recommended was to put the code directly in the “Text”/HTML view of a SBP section and save it without switching to “Visual” – which would often freeze up the system and not allow me to save it. Then, I was instructed to use a shortcode to place that SPB Section within the modal text box.
When I did that, the form showed up, but it is still non-fuctioning. You can see that in action on this page: http://www.defininggrace.com/test_mc/
I hope that makes sense. Thanks again, and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

September 4, 2015 at 2:29 pm in reply to: Embedded MailChimp Forms/Subscribe drop down not sending #210471Thanks for taking a look at this! I am trying to implement it inside of a modal. Here is the page with the suggested shortcode inside of a modal:

Ideally, this text block and modal would be inside of their own SPB section so I can just deploy the “subscribe bar” throughout the site (as I am currently doing with the iframe version).
Thanks!
DanSeptember 3, 2015 at 2:38 pm in reply to: Embedded MailChimp Forms/Subscribe drop down not sending #210168Just wondering if the latest update (or one soon) will have the fix for the Page Builder stripping the form tags out? Unfortunately, the code above didn’t work for inputting a SPB section, so I am currently using iframes. It is working, but not the easiest solution.
Thanks!
DanAugust 20, 2015 at 10:01 pm in reply to: Embedded MailChimp Forms/Subscribe drop down not sending #205962Ed- Great! Thank you! One last question related to this- is there a shortcode that I can use to put the SPB section within the modal? If not, I can just drop it right in the page for now.
Thanks!
DanEd,
Thanks for the update. The text color in the naked headers are now correct, but they are not pulling the correct logos. Both the naked light and dark headers are displaying the standard logos (at least on my site).
Thanks!
DanAugust 19, 2015 at 6:39 pm in reply to: Embedded MailChimp Forms/Subscribe drop down not sending #205534Ed- Thanks! About a third of the way down that page in the light blue box there is a “click to subscribe button” which should pull up a modal with the code Kyle pasted in (which does not use javascript). You might have been clicking on the very bottom of the page in the orange box – that modal has the currently working iframe. I would prefer to not have to use an iframe, and the MailChimp code is working in the header subscribe link (with javascript in it). For some reason, the page builder is not allowing me to save the modal or even a regular text box with the same html/js code in it. When I use a non-js version, it allows me to save the code and display the fields but the submit button doesn’t work.
Thanks!

Thanks, but sadly that still isn’t working. Nothing happens when I hit the submit button in the modal (a third of the way down the page accessed by the “click here to subscribe button” on http://www.defininggrace.com/about). I have tried it in a couple different browsers and even on a different computer.
Thanks!

The Swift Page Builder is still not allowing me to paste the form with JavaScript into the text entry box for the modal elements. Perhaps that’s the problem, and the forms without JavaScript just don’t work.
Thanks!
DanAugust 18, 2015 at 1:59 pm in reply to: Embedded MailChimp Forms/Subscribe drop down not sending #204987Ed- thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, it is not working. The submit button still sits there dead, both in the header and more importantly in the modal boxes on my about page (defininggrace.com/about). I don’t know if this is related to the underlying issue, but when I try pasting in the full form with the Javascript to the Page Builder box (using the “text” pane as opposed to “visual”) and I click “save” in the upper right hand corner, it switches back to “visual”, the pane is blank, and neither the save nor cancel buttons work. I have to reload the page, which loses all changes.
This morning, I tried the full javascript form, javascript disabled form, and their “naked” form- all with the target=”_blank” removed- and none seemed to work.
Thanks!
