Thanks for your response. I disabled all plugins and flushed the cache in wordpress and in my browser. It did not help the problem. But it did make the front page go off-center as well. The front page before that had been centered as usual.
I also took a couple scripts out of the footer file to see if that helped. But it didn’t. After re-enabling all the plugins, I disabled just the ads plugin. Flushed cache and tried different browsers. The off-center problem still persisted.
Thanks again and I hope you can help me get this problem resolved.

Awesome!! That was it.
Thank you so much. I appreciate your quick response and help.
Something just changed recently. Because up until now he was to just add the youtube url and the video fir on the page fine. Now the whole site is blown up!! Every post with a video is now showing it too big. Here’s one from late August – http://ulstermanbooks.com/dont-michelle-obama-private-video/
If you could get Dev to look at it I would appreciate it. There’s a lot of posts on this site and it would be very hard to go back and change them all. Your help with this is really appreciated.
Thanks

I apologize.
Thanks so much for your answer. What is the proper size to fill the container. I won’t be able to try to look it up till later today, so it would be helpful to know those sizes. Or let me know where to find that info.
As always, thanks for the help.
Thank You!!! That is awesome. It’s working now and I can see changes.
I really appreciate it.
This reply has been marked as private.Added the css change you suggested above to the Custom CSS area of the Theme options. I am not currently running any caching plugins. I cleared all browser caches, refreshed and viewed in Chrome, FF, IE and Safari. Still no change.
Thank you
Theme Details in the Admin panel shows that I am using 1.6.2. I have the child theme activated and it says Ver. 1.0. No doubt something is slightly off. I’m not an expert at this.
I made the changes to the child theme style.css file. But I also see a style-20140518232236.css file.
Thanks for your reply. That did not change anything. The light gray background color remains the same. I did see the padding of the link headline adjust when I changed the element .recent-post .details-wrap. Don’t know if maybe that is where it could be edited.
It’s frustrating that this is so hard to customize when it is such a visually prominent element of the page. This is impeding my further progress with this project.
Thank you again for your further assistance.
This reply has been marked as private.I got the linked title color changed. It should have been fairly obvious, but my “Customize” theme section is not live updating for some reason.
I REALLY need to be able to change the background color of the tiles on the blog page when it is set to Masonry. Thanks for any help.
