    Hi,

I have a website that is meant to be in Dutch (standard language), German and French.

I translated the strings where necessary, meaning the strings i translated manually work perfect in the language selections.

The dutch part of the woocommerce Multilingual is working perfect, the French part is nearly perfect, my issue here is that the checkout is still in English. (How can i fix this?) The German part of woocommerce does not change, only where i did a string translation. (How can i fix this?)

What i have done for so far.

I have downloaded a language pack .po and .mo for German but i can’t figure out how to get this working. (tried to put it in wp-content/languages/ and wp-content/languages/plugin and wp-content/languages/woocommerce, tried to define the wplang but this all doesnt seem to work)

Can someone please help me out here?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Can you also check in the theme translation files if those words are there?

Also check in the default Woocommerce translation files inside woocommerce/i18n/languages

    Hey Rui,

The german language is not in wp-content/themes/neighborhood/language.
French is though (but this still doesnt fix the checkout issue)

in woocommerce/i18n/languages is just the woocommerce.pot and woocommerce-admin.pot.

I tried installing a different wordpress but the issue is still occuring.

    any idea what to do?

Apologize for the delay. In this situation you should contact the Woocommerce Multilingual plugin support, they are in better position to help with this.

    Hey Rui,

I got this reply from a dude working for WPML, can you help me out.

    Hi,

Thank you very much for your help in debugging this tricky issue.

I’ve been checking into your site and found the following.

When you switch themes, all WooCommerce german strings are perfectly translated. So the language packages are loaded and recognized. Please check that and let me know if I missed something.

I think that your theme uses his own .mo file to translate WooCommerce strings. If you go to WPML > Theme and plugin localization > Select how to localize the theme and check “Translate using .mo files” you’ll see that JUST the German file is missing. See the screenshot attached.

So, I think that you’ll need to get that files or use the string translation feature for the German language (which it’s working fine: see “DE My Account”).

The context where that string (“My account”) is (“theme swiftframework”) reinforces the hypothesis that your theme .mo files and not WooCommerce .mo files controls the translation of WooCommerce pages.

Let me know if this helps.

    Kind Regards

    THanks!

    Hi,

Can you send me the .po files of our theme that you translated to French and German inside a zip file?

You can also give it a try of how to use WPML String translator like they told.
