Hi there,
Can someone check out my site please and tell me why my site is extremely, painfully slow a lot of times. My site keeps crashing with 503 service errors.
I’ve contacted my hosting company and they said at the time that I am using close to all my resources on my server. So I upgraded to level 3 hosting with them which doubled my RAM. But surprisingly my site became even slower. The CPU usuage jumped way up on the higher RAM hosting plan.
Because my sites are wordpress, I was thinking of using specific wordpress hosting but upon speaking to a hosting tech, they said that no matter if I was on my own virtual server my site would still be extremely slow if my site was not optimised.
I have a number of websites on my shared hosting account just now, maybe around 6. My strength oldschool is my biggest website. But I don’t have many plugins on my site. And I’ve deleted the ones I really don’t need so any plugin I do have are essential for my website to run.
So can someone offer me advice or check out my site and tell me why my site runs so painfully slow? And how could I optimize my site futher? And if you have any advice on whether a wordpress server would benefit my site I’d be greatful. But moving to a wordpress server would be costly for me per month and I don’t wish to do that unless its necessary.
February 26, 2015 at 2:11 pm #153428Hi
Which hosting provider do you use?
Compare our demo (which is actually bigger in size): http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/bM2Eov/supreme.swiftideas.net
Compared to your site: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/ep3pb/http://www.strength-oldschool.com/
Also, this error is down to your host: http://d.pr/i/6oQc/2ffrngcO seems it can’t hack it

February 26, 2015 at 3:16 pm #153472I host with godaddy.com. I’m on their shared Linux hosting – level 2 platform. I did upgrade to their level 3 platform but so no difference in speed. My site was actually even slower.
I am thinking of going with godaddy’s wordpress hosting – PRO level to see if that would make a difference – https://www.godaddy.com/hosting/wordpress-hosting.aspx
Do you think it would?
I tested your site again in that pingdom and got a totally different reading…See screenshot attached. Is that pingdom accuarate because everytime you submit a reading, you get a totally different rating.

I would like to suggest to use WP Engine wordpress hosting. Please contact to them and you will know the difference. They are specialized in wordpress hosting.
Thanks
MohammadFebruary 27, 2015 at 1:53 pm #153798Sorry. But WP Engine wordpress hosting is seriously expensive if you plan to work with quite a few websites. Who can afford that kind of money unless your rich?
