August 6, 2014 at 8:34 pm #98628Site is working 100% simply by deleting the “intense” plugin! Haha this little punk cost me a days work! Good think that I keep a localhost installation to be able to test things out.

August 7, 2014 at 11:15 am #98800Update on intense site builder!
I contacted the plugin author last night and we exchanged several e-mails regarding these issues. He is willing to resolve the issue and I have set-up a test environment to assist.
There is clearly a Redux Framework issue as Ed also pointed out in my other thread and it could be due to the fact that intense uses an older version from Cardinal (and Dante maybe). Nonetheless, they are soon going to release a newer version (with updated Redux) and he told me that they want such issues resolved before the update.
So lets give them a little time and I am sure that it will be resolved. It is a great plugin with a huge amount of shortcodes and features that is really a shame not to be able to use it and that is why I am making the effort too.
August 7, 2014 at 11:35 am #98814No problem, we appreciate the effort that you are putting in as I’m sure there are other users that would like to use the plugin alongside our themes

I’m certainly one of those users and very much appreciate your efforts!!
Cardinal and Intense Builder are simply too good independently not to be able to work together!
Best of luck

August 7, 2014 at 8:25 pm #99097More news:
The issue was the difference between the Redux versions used by Cardinal and Intense. They have fixed it by updating to the newest Redux for their plugin and they have given me an updated version that does not cause the crash anymore. However, they will included in their next update since it needs more testing (which I am also doing).
Right now it works as before the update with the same behavior but I will do more testing and report to them. My guess is that there are a lot of overlapping features between the Swift Page builder and Intense and this is probably what causes the erratic behavior.
Intense is not a simple plugin it is actually a fully feature builder (not visual exactly) with custom post types, page templates and more and some of this features are overlapping with Swifts Page builder. I will see if disabling some not needed features changes anything but in any case I will test for some time (also waiting for the final updated version) and report to them my findings. I will keep you updated.August 7, 2014 at 11:48 pm #99170Thanks. ๐

August 23, 2014 at 3:38 pm #103501Hello everyone. I just got back from Holidays and resumed working so I thought of updating this thread.
While I was gone, the Intense plugin received two updates both including updates to the redux framework they use. I played around with the plugin and I have to say that the situation is greatly improved. Apart from further enhancements within the plugin it is much more stable now and I can say that everyone that finds it useful should buy it with Cardinal.
There might be some instances when upon “inserting” the shortcode generated by the plugin within a text block might not work (it happened 1-2 times to me) but this only happens if you add elements to the page and do not update it first (before entering the shortcode). I guess that without updating the plugin can not see the text block and can insert the shortcode outside any Swift Page Builder assets. Just update the page after adding any element you want to use with the intense plugin shortcodes and you should be fine.
In general it is stable now and I am using it already. I even tested layout elements such as tabs from both the Swift Page Builder and Intense within the same page or row and works fine. Going back to the text block to edit the shortcode (manually) also works fine and then it saves fine. At least in my installation I don’t see any problem so far.
Nevertheless, they update the plugin regularly and the author is very willing to assist should you come across any issues and they are fast to respond with a solution as well. You can expect the same great support as you receive here from Swift Ideas.
All in all a great plugin that complements perfectly a great theme such as Cardinal.

Thanks so much for the detailed follow up.
Just to clarify: With the recent updates to the Intense plugin what would be the procedure for adding an Intense shortcode to to a Cardinal page? You’d first update the page if you had made any changes, then you’d insert a Cardinal text box, insert the shortcode, and update again?
Is there any way to use the ‘Content Section’ Intense shortcode with Cardinal elements? For example I’d like to insert a gravity form on a page with an full width parralax image in the background, but I’d need there to be a white background for just the content section. I can’t find a way to do it on Cardinal, but was hoping I’d be able to use the Intense ‘Content Section’ shortcode. The problem with that is that if I can only insert an Intense shortcode into a text box, I wouldn’t be able to use the Cardinal Gravity form asset within that Intense shortcode…
Also, have you tested the speed of your site with and without the ‘Intense’ plugin. My fear is that with such a powerful theme and such a powerful plugin the site performance would begin to slow.
Thanks so much!!
