Ive inserted a Vimeo video in the portfolio page but there are black bars on the side – meaning its nit high enough. Entering height details in the portfolio meta doesn’t seem to do anything. Any suggestions?
Secondly, subtitle field inside the portfolio meta doesn’t seem to be showing.
July 30, 2014 at 9:23 am #95985Hey, does that improve it?
.player .video-wrapper .video { height: 105%; }
July 30, 2014 at 12:49 pm #96090No – no change. The problem is that the video height is not working. That field that controls video height as well as the field where a portfolio subtitle is inserted are not actually working. Would obviously prefer avoid having a custom css rule created in favor of having the built in theme functionality.

July 31, 2014 at 4:55 pm #96580I am having the same issues with Vimeo videos. Changing the height and width seem to do nothing, the videos always display small with a black area around them. I tried downloading the latest build from themeforest, but the issue is still there.
Is there a fix on the way for this issue?

August 3, 2014 at 2:11 am #97104Apologies for the delay.
EDIT: Just checked, apologies for the issue – resolved for the next update. You can fix by adding this custom css:
.sf-video-wrap { padding-bottom: 56.25%; position: relative; width: 100%; }
@brooklynkid – please update to the latest version as this has been fixed.– Ed
August 3, 2014 at 2:19 am #97109Hey Ed
When you mean resolved for the next update, do you mean that the height field will be working after the latest Cardinal 1.5.4 ? My site is full of videos (maybe 40) in different sizes as well – so obviously having them display correctly is really crucial without custom CSS for each clip. It would be nice if that height field worked.
August 4, 2014 at 10:48 am #97368Hi,
You only have to add it once the custom css options of the theme.

August 4, 2014 at 11:02 am #97376Problem is – if different videos have different proportions there couldn’t be one css solution
August 4, 2014 at 11:05 am #97378I guess the solution provide is a global solution. But will check with the Developer.
Did you tried the css solution to see if it works with several videos?-Rui
August 4, 2014 at 11:28 am #97395Thanks Rui
I didn’t but it definitely wouldn’t work – there is pal, ntsc 1080, 720 x 576 etc etc etc so many different formats that a global padding would mess up some of the videos. I understand the custom css, but this just couldn’t be global.
Essentially that height field is extremely necessary for anyone who wants to use video – and considering that agency is a big of the theme, I think displaying video correctly should be quite a priority.
August 4, 2014 at 2:26 pm #97493Hi @themartist,
I worked on this over the weekend. I’ve set it up so that if you provide a width/height in the asset, then the aspect ratio will be calculated from this.
It will be in the update this week.
