Video sizing

Hi, how do I make the video embeds work so that the height/width ratio fits the video nicely? It’s ugly to have those black bars around the sides – I would love the embed shapes to fit the videos and resize as windows resize:

Hi,

Using a Video Player element with the Page Builder, you just set it to full width and not add anything for the size.

Thanks, that seems to work for the post page itself, but how do I get the thumbnail previews to size properly with no borders in the video?

Hi,

For the blog page, that won’t be possible, as it’s sizing the elements dynamically and videos have a fixed aspect ratio. If possible, I suggest setting your video background color to white in Youtube.

Thanks for reply and sorry if I am not getting it…but surely images have a fixed aspect ratio and they are handled ok? 🙂

Images work because they can be resized, and cropped to fit the size. The same isn’t possible for videos as they can’t be cropped, and because they have different aspect ratios they can’t all fit without bars unfortunately.
