Is it possible to set a video in place of the featured image?

If not, is there a way to hide the featured image when viewing a specific post (on a post by post basis), but show the thumbnail for the post on homepages, archive pages, etc.

Hi,
You can choose the Thumbnail and featured content of the post via the ‘Thumbnail Options’ and ‘Detail Media Options’ Page Meta Box on the ‘Edit Post’ Page . See screenshot for reference: http://prntscr.com/2tusfj .

To hide the featured content on a post by post basis you can use this custom css. Just change the ???? with post id .

.postid-???? figure.media-wrap {display:none;}
