I’m very disappointed, because the reason why I’ve bought DANTE was the Pagespeed which was great in the demo.
Now I have a clean wordpress installation.
Tested Google Page Speed with different themes of a standard page with only text, no images etc.:Theme Twenty Thirteen: 68/80
My own theme that I’ve programmed and I wanted to change to dante because my theme was too slow: 58/65
Theme Dante (without any theme options set etc.): 39/48I know that I can activate gzip compression and so on.
But if I already have to start with such a slow page speed, that doesn’t make sense.I could give you the link as a private message, if you want to.
Is there anything you can do or can I have the money back, if it’s really so slow, because the page speed was the main reason why I’ve bought dante.

For example, testing the blog page of dante the image of google page speed shows just a black site, not looking like dante: http://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdante.swiftideas.net%2Fblog-timeline-full-width%2Fblog-mini-left-sidebar%2F&tab=desktop
So in fact, the page speed of dante is never 90+ as described!
December 23, 2013 at 1:58 pm #38914Hi Matt,
The page speed will vary in terms of the content you have on your site, unfortuantely we can never guarantee 90+ as you could easily add in a couple video backgrounds, lots of imagery etc which will increase the page load.
You seem to have Revolution Slider and Layer Slider installed, when you probably only need one? If you disabled both of those plugins, you would see a great increase in the rating.
We recommend installing Better WordPress Minify too, as we’ve tested it and it will help with speed a lot.
This is also the best site to test with: http://gtmetrix.com/
Hope that helps.

December 23, 2013 at 3:54 pm #38928Hi Ed,
I posted earlier about having issues with Better WordPress Minify. When enable on .js it will cause errors on the responsive slider. If I enable .css it will make the site unreadable.
Can you help out with that? I am using a child theme if that makes any difference.

December 28, 2013 at 6:50 pm #39231Hi Andrew,
For the slider, make sure you have the following settings set in the global options: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3w2dp08r65t7brc/Screenshot%202013-12-28%2018.50.06.png
Let me know if that helps.

i’m not programer and don’t know how to resolve:
1. Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content
2. Leverage browser caching
3. Minify JavaScript
4. Minify CSS
5. Prioritize visible content
It’s clean install here: erwinpogoda.home.pl/dante
And i think something is wrong with this:Please help me.
MateuszJanuary 7, 2014 at 8:18 pm #40857I have also too long load times and a bad http://gtmetrix.com/ result, about 37% only for page speed at http://www.loujett.com/shop/ Far from the 92% demo
I’m happy with my provider since years, I wonder could a faster internet provider really improve theme speed ?
January 7, 2014 at 8:31 pm #40859@mik421 Try: Better WordPress Minify, it very helps but not all problems are resolved. Look at attachment
