We have memory performance issues with our site and we’re having issues with bugs (see current menu buttons, the latest issue) and pageload or white spaces etc. Our host found that even with all plugins disabled, the theme is using 31mb of memory. There’s a huge memory problem. Then with required plugins (SwiftFramework, Redux, Askimet), it’s further impacting the memory load. Our managed WP host repeatedly said the memory use should be 20mb. So the theme impact (31mb) is huge compared to ‘average’.
What can be done to?
1) reduce the memory impact directly by the theme (ie. are there things we can remove, such as woocomm which we don’t use)
2) do we 100% need the swiftframework, redux, askimet plugins – or do other options exist here, which still let the site function)
3) See latest issue on far right menu bar buttons… just appeared without us touching the code / pages / menus.Thanks.
December 20, 2016 at 9:46 am #307333Who are you hosting with? That sounds fairly bad for you and your site.
1) Disable all plugins you are not using.
2) You will want the SF if you want to use the Page Builder/Swift Slider/Portfolio/Directory/Team and all bundled custom post types. Keep Redux yes. Askimet is up to you.
3) You mean these appeared at random?December 20, 2016 at 9:54 am #307340This reply has been marked as private.December 20, 2016 at 10:03 am #307341I would strongly recommend WP Engine + Cloudflare.
3) Are you sure the menu option with that page has not changed to one of your alt menus? Please add a login.
The files/options/functionality of various theme components are not used if not enabled/activated on the theme. Does your host have a clear trace of what is specifically high?

Ok that’s a shame I was hoping there logs could trace this. I’d be inclined to mention that of the thousands of other customers who use Atelier this seems unique to your hosting environment.
If you install this plugin: https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/p3-profiler/ does that provide you with any feedback as to what is causing this?
Do you have access to any server logs we can view? I’ll bring Ed in on this also for any extra feedback to help you out as much as we can.
Thanks,
David.December 28, 2016 at 2:59 am #308143This reply has been marked as private.December 28, 2016 at 4:32 pm #308239Like David told, there is no issue with the theme performance since a lot of people is using without any issue.
Will forward to our head developer to see if there is anything else we can do.-Rui
December 29, 2016 at 9:02 pm #308399Hi @mhote
The truth is if the theme was at fault entirely then everyone would have the same issue with the theme.
I’d definitely recommend DigitalOcean if you have knowledge of how to set it up – very solid service.

June 9, 2017 at 2:11 am #327773Hi,
I was about to post my own thread but found this one and it seemed relevant.
We have bought a lot of licences for Uplift for our clients’ websites and we love the theme, but have definitely found across all of them that the speed is not ideal. Our server company has said that the number of GET requests was considerably higher than average. We are using a litespeed cache plugin which has helped a bit.
I have had a look around and found you have recommended the Better WordPress Minify – would you recommend using this with Uplift? Also, what are the advantages/disadvantages of enabling Swift SmartScript and pre-minified scripts? And is there anything else we should be trying?
Thanks
June 9, 2017 at 5:55 am #327786Sorry I should have added, I can see that the resource use of a lot of builds would get lost on your average big Apache server where there are many, many sites of all different CMS’s and themes if WordPress. However our server is virtual dedicated, and unlike your typical reseller client, we get all the metrics from our hosting provider.
It’s 100% comprised of (beautiful, beautiful!) Swift Ideas-themed sites. About 2/3 Uplift, 1/3 Dante. Running Litespeed, with Litespeed’s plugin. Normal mish-mash of plugins. Our server guys are saying that where a typical WordPress site may be maxing out at 10 get processes, our sites are at 30. I’ve just had to throw another $90/mth to increase RAM & CPU to help counter this.
So yeah, per my post above, will that minifying plugin help, and play nicely with Litespeed’s plugin, and what else can be done to pare back the resource usage, which is only going to get worse for us as we build and host more sites?
June 10, 2017 at 2:18 am #327922Hi Ronin,
Instead of Better WordPress Minify – we recommend Autoptimize now, as it just seems to work better.
If you can give us an example of a site where you are seeing a large number of GET requests, we’ll happily take a look further to see if there is anything we can do to improve it.
Thanks,
– Ed

This is the number of GET requests we got for one page on our ronin.com.au site.
