    Hello,

I have a client that has been using an outdated version of the theme and, after updating WooCommerce, is having some of the WooCommerce elements load weirdly (see attached). I saw that there was a way to update WooCommerce template files, but I’m assuming this is actually more of a theme update issue.

I tried updating the theme on a dummy/test site we built before going live and when I tried to update the theme, it broke severely (see attached), so I’m wary of updating the live site in fear of it doing the same thing. The dummy/test site is running the latest version of WordPress and WooCommerce, so I’m not sure why it’s loading that way.

They both also run on a child theme, so I thought it should update smoothly, but I’m not sure.

Any sort of guidance would be awesome, thank you!

    Chelsea

    Hi,

Does your child theme override any Woo template files? – Please deactivate it and re-test.

Are you running any caching/minification plugins – Please ensure those are flushed?

Have you checked you are using the latest version of the Swift Framework plugin? 1.7+

    Thanks,
    David

    Hi David,

It looks like there was another theme update even after I installed it through FTP! I updated it and all looks well. I’m assuming it’s safe to update the live one now?

    Thank you!

    Hi Chelsea,

As long as everything is backed up and you re-run through the above steps.

    Thanks,
    David.

    Hi @shawnaleighdesigns,

Installing the new theme files and Swift Framework plugin will not loose the WP page/post content.

You would loose code changes if you have modified core theme files.

CSS within the Theme Options will remain.

    Thanks.

Yes woocommerce have changed some things in their update which is why you need to update the theme to the latest version, you need to upload the new files via ftp
