    Hi,

    I need to update my site… I would like to update the theme but I’m afraid it’s been a very long time! Im still on version 1.5 with a child theme.

    Is this going to be possible? Will it cause many issues? Please can you recommend the best procedure.

    Hi,
    Just update only parent theme and never need to update the child theme. Please go to Admin -> Dashboard -> Updates -> Here you will see the options to upgrade wordpress, all plugins and theme.

    Did you extract the zip from theme forest? As that was not the theme zip, it also includes documentation, psds etc

    You need to extract the download from themeforest, then there’s a folder ‘theme files’ with the dante.zip in there

    If you’re uploading via ftp extract the zip before you upload then drag the folder into wp-content and override the current files

    Are you uploading the theme zip to wp-content/themes/?

    Please provide screenshots to illustrate where you uploading the zip/files.

    It says dante was last updated Oct 2014. Your host should be able to do this for you without issue.

    Either that, or you will need to delete the theme and then re-upload the zip via the dashboard.
