    I just logged-in to my site, and noticed update 2.52. I clicked update and entered credentials. The update was spinning for a 20 minutes (usually it take less than a minute).

    My site is now down. How can I fix it?

    I can now login to WordPress again.

    Dashboard says this: An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update again now.

    I reverted to Dante 2.5 via FTP. Site works again.

    I will be very careful updating Dante from now on. Please test out your updates before releasing!

    How did you make upgrade ? Please disable all plugin before update .

    I updated from the admin dashboard, by clicking update themes and entering credentials. I usually leave all plugins enabled during update. Is it safer to disable all plugins when updating?

    I’m in staying with Dante 2.5 for now.

    Hi,
    Yes it is good practice to disable all plugins before theme update because theme update more memory at a time and prevent to failed due to plugin conflict . Anyway your issue resolved.

    Dear Mohammad,

    I disabled all plugins and tried to update Dante from 2.5 to 2.52. I have the same problem as before: Updating Theme Dante (1/1) spins forever and kills my WordPress website.

    I think the problem is not with the plugins but rather with the Dante theme update.

    Please request your hosting provider to increase the PHP Max Execution time around 15 minutes .
