Update 2.4 – Broken Icon Box, Promo Bar and Header

I just made the update to 2.4 and the framework update and now have the following CRITICAL Homepage issues:

Homepage Issues:
No Header content (BugPicture2)
No Icon box edits showing up in the text below the edit (BugPicture2)
Promo bar no longer sized to page width(also lost custom code to reduce top and bottom margin to just 5px after text)

Note- I can get the header working until I add in the Icon Box. Also, Header works on all other pages that do not have icon boxes.

Desired outcome: (you can see mostly correct examples in old prototype site BugPicture1)
Header shows for homepage with all components working as expected
Icon boxes are fixed and display both icon and supporting text entered into the text editor
Promo bar goes full page width and properly centers text content.

Look forward to getting this working as soon as possible.

Hi @macmcg

The issue is in your global banner element – there is an unclosed “b” tag in your global header banner widget:

Fix that, and it should resolve your issues.

Thanks for the reply, but it is NOT the gobal banner widget – I did fix by the way and have the same problem.

Note, all other pages display without problems so far and they all had/still have the same global banner.

I am trying to find a work around and having serious issues as well.

I am not sure if they are related, but I can easily reproduce the problem by inserting a shortcode using the Text Block Element or entering an FA icon in the ‘title icon’ section of the Element. the shortcode select in the text editor does not work and there are 2 of them – see attached).

As soon as I add an FA icon in the bar or by the dropdown selector, my page is hosed meaning not showing the element or header. I also lose my text if it goes too long in the editor (I’m using 1/4 text blocks to try and replicated a Icon Box as a workaround).

Trying to get closer to the issue with what I have run into so far. Really appreciate any and all assistance – this is a big blocker for me.

Do you have any child theme customisations at all? The page structure is extremely broken on your site, with what looks like a whole page wrap being added within the first icon box somehow.

What is the content of that icon box? I tried to login to check but the password is incorrect it seems.
