Trouble with wordpress theme and server

Hello,

I’m quite new to wordpress but have decided to dive into creating a new website on the platform. I recently purchased a server on Digital Ocean and created a droplet using the Ubuntu WordPress on 14.04 version.

I then downloaded the wordpress platform onto the sever and downloaded the theme I purchased from themeforest.

I opened the theme and followed the instructions verbatim uploading the unzipped “uplift” file.

Only to be left with this page a page that reads

The webpage at http://198.199.122.29/wp-admin/update.php?action=upload-theme might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

So all this being said. I’m one confused guy. The rest of the wordpress platform is working besides this page. I also tried downloading another theme and the same thing is happening/

I’m not sure if this is because I don’t have an FTP or whatever.

Can anyone help this n00b out offer suggestions?

Hi,

If you experience this with two themes, it indicates a server issue. To resolve this, contact your hosting support and report what you have above and they will help you.

David, do you know where I can find the theme function file in the uplift folder. I’m going to ty to increase the file limit as that what my server provided suggested. I’m following these instructions http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-increase-the-maximum-file-upload-size-in-wordpress/

Sure it’s in the main folder so /wp-content/themes/uplift/

I do not have a folder labeled wp-content is this in the uplift_v1.2.5 or WordPress only file “uplift”.

I’m assuming the uplift folder but I can’t quite find the file/folder

The path /wp-content/themes/uplift/ will be on your server.

It will be within the WordPress only file “uplift”.
