    Hi guys,

    Its James again from privilegedsales.azurewebsites.net

I updated the site to the latest version of WordPress 4.2.1, which i successfully managed to do.

The second was to update the Neighborhood theme to the latest version. (Woocommerce was saying I had outdated bundled version etc.) When I used your one click Update button in Appearance-Themes- it managed to download it and then had an error: An error occurred while updating Neighborhood: Could not copy file. D:/home/site/wwwroot/wp-content/themes/neighborhood/404.php

I then checked on FTP and now the /site/wwwroot/wp-content/themes directory is empty!! Not even the default WP themes exist.

I dont understand how Neighborhood could remove everything from WP! I am so scared that I have lost everything. I didn’t make a backup of the site as I thought it would just be a simple theme update. (Now I am really kicking myself)

Is there anyway that i can restore an older version of the site?

This is really an EMERGENCY guys and need your help on this one ASAP.

I look forward to your reply…

    J

    Hi

The theme wouldn’t delete any files, that’s impossible, if this did happen it would have been an issue with the update process. Have you tried uploading the theme via ftp?

    Not yet,

I am worried that if I upload the theme via FTP, then I will be uploading a fresh install of Neighborhood with none of my styling/images/structure/design that I had previously created.

    Pls advise..

Did you edit the parent them files? This would be overwritten when updating the theme

Yes unfortunately, I edited the Parent theme files. I haven’t started using Child themes yet. 🙁

So to confirm, you recommend that I do a manual upload via FTP of the theme?

My last question is that I can still see the data in the dasshboard/backend of WP. So in Media library, all images are there, and all the Pages & Products are there too. If i perform an upload via FTP, will that have any effect on the media/Pages/Products?

    Best,

    J
