Sorry, no success. Does the German translation work in your local installation?
August 19, 2015 at 3:02 pm #205418Will forward to Ed so he can reply.
Thanks-Rui
August 20, 2015 at 7:49 am #205637It seems that only strings like “[Posted] By %autor% on %date% in %category%” are not translated. And I checked those translations in the de_DE.po from 2015-07-24 02:26+0100 (line 11718):
#, fuzzy #~ msgid "" #~ "By <a href=\"%2$s\" rel=\"author\" itemprop=\"author\">%1$s</a> on <span " #~ "class=\"date updated\">%3$s</span>" #~ msgstr "" #~ "geschrieben von <a href=\"%2$s\" itemprop=\"author\" class=\"fn\">%1$s</" #~ "a> auf <span class=\"date updated\">%3$s</span> in %4$s"
msgid does not fit to msgstr. The first has only 3 word placeholder whereas the second has 4. This might be a problem.
See also line 5486ff, 5496ff, 5521ff and 11772ff.
August 21, 2015 at 1:15 am #206016That is an outdated translation – can you update?
FYI – the translation in the de_DE.po file is marked as “Fuzzy”, so it’s not used – you’ll need to confirm it for it to be used.
– Ed
August 21, 2015 at 7:55 am #206044Okay, I updated the theme. It’s now at version 3.10 and the .po file is from 2015-08-11. Same problem. Did you tried the German translation? Is it working for you? It’s all about the “By %author% …” or “Posted by %author% …” parts. The rest seems to be translated correctly.
August 24, 2015 at 1:11 pm #206732Hey,
Did you try Ed’s suggestion?
“the translation in the de_DE.po file is marked as “Fuzzy”, so it’s not used – you’ll need to confirm it for it to be used.”
Thanks,

I am looking at your single blog posts, I cannot see anything that is not translated?
“Fuzzy” means you will need to check and amend the translated string, it’s not an exact translation.
Let us know how else we can better assist you.

September 11, 2015 at 3:32 pm #212349Because we were running out of time we solved this issue by using the real-time-find-and-replace plugin. It’s a dirty solution but at the moment we are ok with that.
But you can check the missing translation by viewing the attachment of my first post in this thread (“Posted by” instead of “geschrieben von”).
September 11, 2015 at 3:45 pm #212354To make that clear: I just want to report this as a bug, because other German users will also have this problem. Just try it by yourself. I will update my theme when you have released the new translation file. Thank you in advance.
September 14, 2015 at 11:46 am #212677Hey,
Thanks for reporting thi, we have that updated within the theme translation file:
#: single.php:218 #, fuzzy, php-format msgid "Posted by <span itemprop=\"author\" class=\"fn\">%1$s</span> in %2$s" msgstr "" "Veröffentlicht von <a href=\"%2$s\" itemprop=\"author\" class=\"fn\">%1$s</" "a> in %3$s" #: single.php:220 #, fuzzy, php-format msgid "" "Posted by <span itemprop=\"author\" class=\"fn\">%1$s</span> on <span class=" "\"date updated\">%2$s</span> in %3$s" msgstr "" "Veröffentlicht von <a href=\"%2$s\" itemprop=\"author\" class=\"fn\">%1$s</" "a> am <span class=\"date updated\">%3$s</span> in %4$s"
As this translation is marked as “fuzzy” it means that the translation will need to be checked and confirmed by yourself to make it a perfect translation for your site. This is done within either POEdit or the Codestyling Localization plugin.
If you have the translation corrected we are also happy to add this into the translation file to make it better for all German language users.
Thanks,
David. -
