    Hello there,

Few times ago, I added this topic http://support.swiftideas.net/forums/topic/few-dante-questions/page/2/#post-69641 in which we discussed Poedit translation.

After this, I went to download the new version of Dante on theme forest, then I did the translation. In the end, there is still strings untranslated. I have problems with the date string, the “days ago” in the comments and “you email address will not be published…”. I took some screenshots to show you the issue. Is there any way I can fix this?

    Regards,
    Maxime

    I attached the .po file.
    Thank you,

    Hi again,
I did the upload, but it has an error according to the file type. Is there anywhere else I can send it to you?

    Hi there,

Both strings aren’t included in the theme, they are part of the WordPress core – you’d need to download WordPress in your language to have those be as you wish – http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language

    Hi Ed,

Thanks for this. Is this also happening with WPML plugin?

    Hi Maxime,

Not sure what you mean? You’d need the translated version of WordPress for those strings to be in your language.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Ed,

I mean I would eventually like to have both languages on the site, as possible with WPML plugin. In that case, will those strings adapt regarding the language chosen by the user? For instance, I put wordpress in french. The strings will be in french for now. If I add WPML to my website, and a user choose English as is language. Do the strings will still be in french because of the WP version, or it will translate because of WPML?

    Thanks,
    Maxime

    Hi Maxime,

You can translate all the theme strings with WPML yes.

    Hi Ed,

I did what you suggest with the “wordpress in your language”.

Everything is fine, but the date format (which is different in french – month day, year to day month year) doesn’t change. I looked in the Po file wordpress gave me, but the specific line isn’t there. I was wondering if it could be because of the other .mo file I added (for Dante theme)? Both files are called, fr_CA but aren’t in the same language folder (one is in the main language folder, and the one for the theme is in the theme language folder).

I’m pretty sure it is a problem linked to the wordpress .mo file, which would not count the right string for the format translation, but just in case I wanted to make it clear with you before.

    Regards,
    Maxime
