    Hi,

If I update the Swift theme, what settings are lost? I’ve made a lot of changes in the Theme Options and widgets section and I will make screenshots of these settings as a backup but was just wondering if these settings will be reset after the update. Or, is there another way to save these settings and upload them instead of manually setting them again? I use a child theme for other customisations.

    Thanks!

    Hi

Updating the theme will not change any of your settings or widgets, so don’t worry about anything like that

    Hi,

Only if your customizations were made in a child theme, and if the changed files in the child weren’t changed in the latest theme update.

Unless you knew what changes where made in the parent theme, it would not be possible

We supply you with a child theme in the main zip file that is in your ThemeForest account.

You can also read up on the WordPress docs which explains everything about child themes: https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes.

We provide a child theme inside the files available in Themeforest download area.
Check inside the biggest zip file.

You just have to install and activate it as normal theme.

Only for root folder files, like footer.php

For swift framework files, it will be the function you will need to copy, and paste in your child theme’s functions.php file
