Theme Transition blog home page

I have a blog that I am getting ready to move to flexform and I have a question about the main blog page. My current theme is Thesis and the first page is styled in the usual way with excerpts and thumbnails for a specified number of posts. Here’s my question…

When I switch to felxform do I need to install the “Blog” element from the swift page builder on a post to be able to style the appearance of the excerpts and thumbnails, or do I just need to switch themes?

I tried just switching themes on a test site and could’t figure out how to control the look of the front page. So, what is the best way to make this transition?

Will that “blog” element page automatically sync with all 400 of my existing posts or is there something I need to do to make that happen?

Thanks Mohammad, I appreciate all your help. One more question on this. I added a “blog element post” on a test site and gave it a title. Then I added a few additional posts. The problem I am having is that the “blog element post” shows up as if it where any other post on the front page and in the “related articles” at the bottom of the other posts. I thought it might be because I gave it a title, but removing the title didn’t change anything. So, my question is: How do I add a “blog element post” and keep it from showing up in those places?

Hi, I’m afraid I cannot follow the issue, what exactly do you want to keep from showing in which places? Can you show us a link?

I am trying to address the 2 following issues:

1) Notice that the 2nd item down is the blog home page (the same page you are on) where the Swift Page Builder “blog” element is installed. If you click on the title or read more link the page reloads.

2) Also, if you click on one of the other 2 posts listed and go to that post, when you scroll down to “related articles” you will see that the blog home page (Articles to Help You Recreate Your Reality) is listed like a regular post and that it steals an image from another post.

I am trying to work all these bugs out prior to converting the actual blog over to Flexform.

Please delete swift page builder blog element from /blog2/ post page . You need to create a page and insert swift page builder blog element. While you did create a post and inserted swift page builder blog element that is wrong. Hope you will understand. I made a test blog http://advancedlifeskills.com/test-blog/.
