Hi,
The tabs on my site still aren’t working.
It’s a major issue for me, as my products and information about them are being displayed in tabs.
Can I please have some assistance fixing this issue, or some urgent advice as to how i can help myself.
Thank you in advance.
George.
August 13, 2014 at 12:19 pm #100694Hi
I did add this to the list of bugs, not sure if the developer has checked it yet. I will forward this to him so he can take a look when he comes online

Which page are the tabs on? I’ll take a look at the issue.

We also have this as a major problem in all product pages on Woo Commerce
September 1, 2014 at 12:10 pm #105790Hi,
Yes it was. But this only related with the page builder tabs not Woocommerce tabs.
What is exactly your issue? Can you provide a link?-Rui
September 1, 2014 at 11:03 pm #105996Hi Rui,
Sorry yes this is in relation to the page builder tabs which im using inside of Woo Commerce pages.
What I believe maybe happening is when the theme updates it is overriding all the short description fields – hence putting out tab shortcodes in there and making a mess of the pages? What is the best way to stop this on theme update?
Note its important that the short description is not a shorter version of description field because of this.
Here is the issue here – http://sofabeds.staging.wpengine.com/products/single-sofabeds/armless-single-sofabed/
You can see how it should look here on the live site without the updates applied – http://www.sofabedspecialists.com.au/products/single-sofabeds/armless-single-sofabed/
Note this has also been sent to Ed earlier, so whoever is best to handle this one is fine.
September 2, 2014 at 12:58 am #106018@mhawker – we just pushed v1.9 update, can you update via your dashboard on the staging site, and then edit the product page, and edit + save each tab individually. This will re-set the tab IDs, and should fix that issue!
Let us know.

September 2, 2014 at 1:49 am #106029Hi Ed,
I have just tested on a development site as I dont want to touch that staging until we discuss some more.
Editing and saving each tab is going to be a nightmare with so many products it will be 500+ tabs
On our main site it is still running 1.7.3 if we update it to 1.9 instead will it bring across the changes without having to update each tab.
1.7.3 wont have the issues of the database short descriptions applied so im hoping this would fix it, but that’s only if you have applied this to the current update.
Can you please confirm this will work updating from 1.7.3 to 1.9 instead of 1.8.1 to 1.9
September 2, 2014 at 1:51 am #106031Hi @mhawker,
The issue should only occur where tab ID’s aren’t properly set when the page is saved. Set a backup point on your live site and then do the update, or copy over to the staging area from live and update to v1.7 (not v1.9 – my mistake)?

September 2, 2014 at 1:55 am #106033Sorry im confused to what your saying there Ed.
I’m unsure why TABS should not be set as these are all working from any time before the 1.7.3 version.
What im asking is from the 1.7.3 version to 1.9 if we update from this point will these keep all the tabs set so we dont have to manually do over 500 of them?
Otherwise do you have a bulk script that will update reset all these tabs at once.
September 2, 2014 at 1:56 am #106035This issue occurred with the fix for having multiple tabs with the same title.
It should not break if you update to v1.7 from the version you have, but given you are on wpengine, my recommendation to you would be to take a new staging version from live, and update that staging site to test first.

September 2, 2014 at 1:58 am #106037Updating to version 1.7 would be going backwards which i dont have access too.
With the test that your mentioning to do from WP ENGINE this is Exactly what has already been done and causing the issues.
September 2, 2014 at 2:00 am #106038Version 1.7 is the latest available, you sure you don’t have 1.53?
Try with v1.7 on your staging site, and if not we’ll look into a fix for this for you.

September 2, 2014 at 2:00 am #106039We have 1.7.3 setup on the live site but we need to upgrade this immediately as it was causing mobile issues.
Hence we looked at 1.8.1 but this is then causing the TAB Issues. This has been setup on WP Engine staging and also Local Development Server.
1.9 obviously you mentioned fixes the tab issues 1.8.1 caused but then needs to be upgraded manually.
We need a solution to skip the 1.8.1 issues being caused to the tabs so we dont lose anything.
