Syntax Error on Credit Card Checkout

Hi There,

Love the theme! This may not be an issue you can help with, but i’m not sure what is causing the issue and you may have seen this before – if so i’d really appreciate your advice!

Issue

I have installed the ‘Realex Payment Gateway’ plugin to integrate our Realex account with Woocommerce. Paypal payments work perfectly, however when I try to use Realex for credit card payments, I get the below error in Chrome:
SyntaxError: Unexpected character <

And this error in Firefox:
SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 4 of the JSON data

I put a ticket up with Woocommerce a week ago, but I haven’t heard anything back yet! Also got in touch with Realex and they were unable to help. Also put a ticket in with Skyverge who developed the plugin and nothing back from them!

I know it’s unlikely to be an issue with the Atelier plugin, but I just wanted to ask just in case you had come across the issue before and you know what’s going on.

What stage do you get this error, after card details are entered and “Buy Now” is clicked?

Unfortunately, you would need to contact the developer. If they do not support this, I would change payment plugins.

Hi Kyle,

For your info, I downgraded to version 2.3.13 of Woocommerce and that fixed the issue. So it seems something was introduced in a recent version of Woocommerce that changed how the JSON responses were received from the Realex Payment Gateway Plugin. Hopefully they will fix the issue soon, but will use the earlier version for now!
