I’m trying to create a slider in the home page header area. I’ve tried using Revolution slider but the button I use is in the wrong location if browsing with Chrome and IE. Therefore, I’ve opted for Swift slider.
With Swift Slider, I’m using portfolio. I used the Swift page builder to create a full width text box with headings and a button. I initially used alt background for the full width text box which works when I preview, but when I look at the home page, the header slider is blank with black background and no content, only meta info on the portfolio item.
Next, I tried adding background image in the portfolio meta options. This works as the image shows on the header of the home page, but the content I want on the slider isn’t there.
Is there a way to make the content show? I’ve watched a demo and it should work but mine isn’t working.
I’ll include url and login in the following post.

Looks like you got your slider working, I see the background image and text in the middle.
Is there anything else you need assistance with?

August 14, 2015 at 6:38 pm #204212Hi David,
I actually don’t have the slider working. I reverted back to Revolution Slider in the meantime so customers will see it. However, I don’t want to use Revolution Slider because the button is in the wrong place on browsers besides Firefox. If you could help me set up Swift Slider that would be great.
August 17, 2015 at 10:19 am #204471Hi,
I am setting up a test page for the slider: http://www.firstsecuritypower.com/swift-slide-test/
The slide itself: http://www.firstsecuritypower.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=502&action=edit
However, currently there is a JS error on your site, which is stopping the slider from working as expected.
– Can you first update the theme to latest version? http://www.firstsecuritypower.com/wp-admin/update-core.php
Thanks,
David.August 18, 2015 at 3:52 pm #205049I’ve updated the theme. What should be done next?
August 19, 2015 at 12:42 pm #205320Hi,
Please take a look now, http://www.firstsecuritypower.com/swift-slide-test/.
The Swift Slider would only work if you were using more than one slide.
Take a look and the slides in the Portfolio post type and copy those if you need to.
Thanks,
David.August 19, 2015 at 3:48 pm #205443Thanks, the slider is working. How do I add content to it such as text and buttons? I want it to look like the home page.
August 19, 2015 at 3:57 pm #205450If its not possible to replicate the header on the home page and requires using Revolution Slider instead, how would I fix the coding so that the button is positioned correctly in all browsers? The button is centered in Firefox, but in other browsers, it is on the upper left corner area.
August 20, 2015 at 3:43 am #205623UPDATE:
I updated Revolution Slider and now the button problem is fixed for all browsers. I’m just unable to navigate to a second slide that I’ve added. If you could help me with that, that would be great.
August 20, 2015 at 4:11 am #205625Adding a third slide in Revolution Slider’s Home Header slide also creates a large white space beneath the slide header and the body content. I’ve had to remove it but you can test it out.
August 21, 2015 at 12:17 am #205993Hi,
I have a few doubts about your current issues.
Are you going to use the Swift Slider page that David created or are you using a new one with revolution slider?
thanks
-Rui
August 21, 2015 at 1:17 am #206017Sorry about that. David hasn’t resolved the issue for me yet which is why I went back to trying out Revolution Slider. For now, I’ll stick to Revolution Slider and if someone could help with the issues above that would be great.
August 21, 2015 at 1:35 pm #206176Hi,
The Swift Slider would not work as you want it to for your site, you will need to stick with Revolution Slider.
I am testing out a 3 slide revolution setup here, “Test Slider”. So far, it seems to work fine. http://www.firstsecuritypower.com/rev-slider-test/.
When you edit a slide item, always save it before trying to edit the next one.
Thanks,
David.August 21, 2015 at 4:50 pm #206322Thanks David. I was able to figure it out. The problem of slides not sliding was due to Revolution Slider having a problem with custom coded buttons. So I opted for Revolution Slider’s button layer instead and now they are sliding properly.
