Hi There,
Long time Flexform user – thanks for a great theme and support.
I noticed that the Swift Framework Recent Posts Widget, when used on both the sidebar and footer, will display non blog post’s when the page is dynamically created (i.e. clicking a tag, or a category).
We use the MyMail newslettter plugin, as well as the Flamingo plugin, and it appears that the Recent Posts widget, displays the pages/posts that these plugins create – but only on the dynamic pages, not on the home page, or blog page (i.e. non Dynamically created pages). On those pages, it displays only blog posts, as expected.
Is there anyway to prevent this from happening on the dynamic pages?
Thanks in advance for your help,
David

If you can add your FTP details also, we will assist you in fixing this.
Thanks.
November 11, 2016 at 6:27 pm #301578Hi David,
Can I provide you the wordpress login info, or do you need our FTP info?
If FTP info, then can you explain how I can provide that to you? I’m not familiar with how to do so (sorry).
Thanks,
David
November 14, 2016 at 9:43 am #301711Hi,
In this instance, FTP details please. If you contact your host and ask them, they will provide you with these.
Thanks

I am not sure which of the plugin are causing this, our post Query specifically only get’s WP post post types:
$recent_posts = new WP_Query( array( 'post_type' => 'post', 'ignore_sticky_posts' => 1, 'posts_per_page' => $number ) );
Is there any scope to disable the plugins whilst we test?
November 16, 2016 at 8:10 pm #302247Hi David,
Yes, if you need to disable plugins 1 by 1, while debugging/testing this, please go ahead. But please re-enable once you’re done.
Thanks in advance,
David
November 18, 2016 at 2:44 pm #302516Hi,
I have isolated the plugin that causes this, it’s Flamingo. I am not 100% sure what can be done to stop this happening currently, do you have a support contact for the Flamingo plugin?
November 21, 2016 at 9:17 pm #302869Hi David,
I think this issue happens with more than just the Flamingo plugin.
We use another plugin called MyMail newsletter – which is a email plugin.
If I disable Flamingo, and I look at a blog post category, the posts created by MyMail are also displayed as recent posts.
You can see this here: http://www.regentparklife.com/category/buying/
Currently, I have the Flamingo plugin disabled, buy MyMail is enabled. You can see in the sidebar and footer that the MyMail posts are displayed in the Recent Posts widget.
Is there anything else we can do to prevent this?
We ideally need these 2 plugins to run our business properly.
Thanks in advance,
David

November 30, 2016 at 11:11 am #304398Hi,
Apologize for the delay, I’m looking at this but will need admin access to look at what custom post types the Newsletter plugins uses.
Thanks

November 30, 2016 at 8:09 pm #304549Hi Rui,
What you did seems to have resolved the issue with the MyMail Newsletter Plugin, but when I enable Flamingo again, the issue continues to happen with that plugin activated.
Is there a way for you to fix that issue as well, the same way you did with the MyMail Newsletter plugin?
Thanks in advance Rui,
David
December 2, 2016 at 7:09 pm #304990What I fixed was an issue in our code, but in this case it could be something in the Flamingo.
Do you have the Flamingo plugin active at the moment? Will need admin credentials to login.-Rui
