    Hi,
I have lots of categories nested in parent categories.
However, the super search options seem to only allow me to display all or nothing for categories. Is there a way to set the parent category and only display the children for each option in the super search?

    Thanks

    Hi Andrew,

Nice idea, would definitely be helpful. I’ll get an option added in the update after next to allow you to set the parent category, to enable more precise category control.

    Thanks!

    Hello guys!

Also faced with the same issue.

Ed, could you please let me know if this feature was implemented in any of the updates recently?

Also, is it possible to do it so if I do choose one of the parent categories first and then use another select for the deeper level – it only show me the child elements of that parent category that I selected before?

    For example:

I have two levels of categories, that look in the following way:

    – Boys
    — Shirts
    — Pants
    — Shoes
    – Girls
    — Dresses
    — Skirts
    — Bags

And I do a supers search where the user first selects the top category, and then it’s childs.

    Like: I wan’t to find clothing for _boys_/girls_. I need new _shirts/pants/shoes/dresses/skirts/bags_.

So when the user selects “boys” in the first dropdown, then he only sees ‘shirts/pants/shoes’ in the seconds one.

Hope I was at least a bit clear with my question. ๐Ÿ™‚ Please, let me know if it’s possible to do it in SuperSearch.

Looking forward to hear from you.

    Thank you!

    Hi @kchabanov

That isn’t possible as standard, however it is something we hope to be able to develop in the future.

    Hi Ed.

Not possible to implement a logic that I described? It’s Ok. And was the main feature of this topic implemented? As you told it would be included in one of the new updates per this request?

    Thank you.

The original request was for only displayed child categories for a specific field, rather than all categories (not dynamic), which is on the list – penciled in for v2.0 (the next big update).
