Hi
I have set up a mailchimp newsletter. I want to change the subscribe dropdown to a simple email entry box like used on this site http://www.celticandco.co.uk/. How would I go about this in Neighbourhood theme?
Thanks

In Mailchimp just create a form with only an email field, then copy the embed code

September 3, 2014 at 4:43 pm #106787Thanks for the speedy response Kyle. Sorry I meant not in a dropdown but embedded in the page (like on http://www.celticandco.co.uk). If I just copy the form code from mailchimp won’t it still be a dropdown?
TaSeptember 3, 2014 at 5:01 pm #106788No of course not, the dropdown is created in that section only

September 4, 2014 at 10:39 am #107010I’m sorry Kyle you will have to bare with me as I am a new convert to WordPress and Neighbourhood theme (Excellent by the way) and still finding my feet.
The simpelest code I can get from mailchimp is below:
<!-- Begin MailChimp Signup Form --> <div id="mc_embed_signup"> <form action="//rahandco.us9.list-manage.com/subscribe/post?u=000000000000000000amp;id=00000000000" method="post" id="mc-embedded-subscribe-form" name="mc-embedded-subscribe-form" class="validate" target="_blank" novalidate> <div class="mc-field-group"> <label for="mce-EMAIL">Email Address </label> <input type="email" value="" name="EMAIL" class="required email" id="mce-EMAIL"> </div> <div id="mce-responses" class="clear"> <div class="response" id="mce-error-response" style="display:none"></div> <div class="response" id="mce-success-response" style="display:none"></div> </div> <!-- real people should not fill this in and expect good things - do not remove this or risk form bot signups--> <div style="position: absolute; left: -5000px;"><input type="text" name="00000000000000000000000000000" tabindex="-1" value=""></div> <div class="clear"><input type="submit" value="Subscribe" name="subscribe" id="mc-embedded-subscribe" class="button"></div> </form> </div> <!--End mc_embed_signup-->
I have tried using just the form field but I am still getting the dropdown. What should I extract from the above code to just get the email entry field and title without the dropdown.
Many thanks
September 4, 2014 at 10:43 am #107012Apologies, I thought you meant you wanted to add it somewhere else (not in the header)
Using the subscribe area in the header will present a drop down, if you want to change that I’m afraid you will need to hire a developer
