Is it possible to specify square sized (vs. rectangular) thumbnails to be used in portfolio, news and team member galleries? If so, is this something that can be specified in the child theme vs. master theme?

Hi

You would need to edit quite a few files to change the values, for e.g.the files found in joyn/swift-framework/content/
