I realize this may be out of your scope – but wondering if you guys have ever encountered anything like this. We offer a sample kit on our site at no charge (though need to go through checkout process).
Last day or two we have gotten a bunch of orders mostly from Russia (i.e.

    Russia 607220 Arzamasprospekt Lenina
    154/2 kv 48
    Wichita, Kansas 67220

They are going through the full checkout process in order to send these through and just wondering if there is a way to prevent or if you have any experience as to why someone would want to do something like this (is it a precursor to a hack attempt).

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks very much –
    Frank

Followup note on this issue. Right after i posted this support request, our site went down (was just showing a blank white screen) and I could not access the wp-admin.

Our site host recommended updating wordpress and when i did that – all our plugins disappeared and were listed as deactivated (see screen shot).
This is a note from our site hose: “The issue appears to be due the theme. This is the error in the domain error log when trying to access the site:
    [Wed Nov 12 13:18:31 2014] [warn] [client 172.28.10.34] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get_cart_url() on a non-object in /var/www/vhosts/thikit.com/httpdocs/…-content-display/sf-header.php on line 523″

We did try to update a few plugins prior to the site going down (Gravity Forms, SEO Plugin and ShipStation) – not sure if it is connected to that or if it has anything to do with recent bogus orders to our site.

Our site host is in process of restoring our backup from yesterday.

Sorry to bother you guys with this – but if you have any insight with the Fatal Error listed above – please let me know.

Also – do you see any issues with our updating woocommerce and wordpress to newer versions?

    Thanks,
    Frank

    Hi,

That error probably means that Woocommerce is not installed.

Also you can restrict the checkout process the Countries where you allow the Kit to be dispatched.

Let us know if you need further help after the backup restore.

Our site host is restoring the backup and are suggesting we update all plugins including woocommerce (we are on 2.1.12). If we update to 2.2.8, do you think we will run into any issues.

We are on Neighborhood 1.81 – should we update to version 1.96?
They are also suggesting that we upgrade to most current version of wordpress – not sure if any of these updates will compromise the site. Please let me know your thoughts on this.
    Thanks so much –
    Frank
