    Hi,

Any way of improving page speeds? Back end and front end are awful.

    Cheers!

It’s loading pretty quick for me, 3.7 seconds on the speed test. It may be your internet connection.

If your backend is slow then it is not down to the theme, it is likely down to your internet connection or hosting.

I’d recommend having a google search to see if you can find anything.

It is very strange so. It is telling me:
Connection lost. Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected. We’re backing up this post in your browser, just in case.

But my connection is fast and I am online. I checked the connection speed and it is fine.

Then it will be down to your host, if your backend is loading slowly, then it is not a theme issue. Also we get super fast loading times for our demo (which likely has more content on than your site)

I just clicked on your site and it took ages to load, and you don’t even have our theme activated, therefore it proves that it is not our theme.

    See: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/cg1IWr/http://popculturebk.com/new/

As you can see, it takes around 30 seconds before any of the theme files even load, which means it is your host

I also have this problem. I have so far used Dante on 3 webpages, which is on 3 different FTP-servers (2 different hosts). Both the back-end and front-end is really slow.

Takes about 5 seconds for the page to reload after clicking for example ‘update’ on a page, and then 5 seconds for the front-end page to reload after that. It’s really a pain to work with.

My internet-connection both at home and at work is good 25/15mbit. I do not have any issues with other themes than Dante.

I’m sad that it is like this, because I really enjoy Dante and wish to use this for more clients.

    Hi @Relter,

If you could provide a login/link so that I can check this here, I’ll happily investigate.

    Hi @Relter,

Just checked it out, and a few things point to a hosting/setup issue. Even though you say same provider, it’s definitely something there.

First off is the redirect/time waiting at domain – https://www.dropbox.com/s/ab5yrscolrcxzbr/Screenshot%202014-05-28%2012.58.19.png (1.63s).

The site finishes loading under 1 second later, however you have another wait with admin-ajax.php – https://www.dropbox.com/s/ogomb6bsb9iloj7/Screenshot%202014-05-28%2012.59.05.png (2.89s).

To put in perspective, on our demo site, the domain was is 58ms, and the admin-ajax wait is 570ms.

Thanks @Relter, I do appreciate that, and would appreciate if you could provide a login to the site so that I can try and pin down where the issue lies for you.

Ultimately other themes may be quicker, but I can only assume that is because they aren’t as feature rich as Dante.
