    Hello. Beautiful template!

I’d like simple portfolio page permalinks, so I have “domain.com/item-name” not the default “domain.com/?portfolio=item-name”. I activated the “Remove slug from custom post type” plug-in, but it doesn’t seem to work – any suggestions on how to get what I want? Many thanks.

I don’t think that’s possible, but I will ask the developer!

Hello Melanie….Any luck with the developer? How might I simplify a portfolio permalink to get “domain.com/item-name” instead of the default “domain.com/?portfolio=item-name”? Thanks!

    Hi there,

What do you have the permalinks set as in Settings > Permalinks? Then you can try this plugin – http://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-post-type-permalinks/

    Hope that helps!

Oh no – I’m getting a 404 error when I try to view the portfolio page.

    Ed, could you clarify:
How should one have permalinks set in Settings>Permalinks to get this to work?

    Thanks!

In the permalink section change back to default, save and then back to custom and save. Let me know if that worked!

    Cheers

Hi Melanie, thanks for your response.

No, it did not work. But I see why now…

After the modification, the URL has an additional “/” added after the .com, regardless of whether I remove it from the custom post types permalinks plugin option.

    Eg
    What should be: …url.com/portfoliorenamed/%postname%/
    is becoming: …url.com//portfoliorenamed/%postname%/

    Any ideas?
    Thank you!

I forwarded this to the developer, I think it’s a plugin issue 🙁

Thanks for checking, Melanie. I’m happy to go without the plug-in and find another way.

What about adapting this fix that works in Flexform? http://support.swiftideas.net/knowledgebase/portfolio-url-rewrite/

I tried to follow these instructions, without success. Could you advise how to get this to work for the Neighborhood theme?

    Thanks,
    Anne
