    Hola awesome developers!

I’m almost done with my site but I just found out a couple of issues with SEO on my product archive page. Yoast SEO plugin doesn’t seem to work on this page. Please see my attached diagnosis image. Meta description is not picked up and the most weird thing is that I have two h1:s. On all other pages, this stuff works. Also, the page description up in the URL tab of the browser (see other image) automtaically calls this page PRODUKTER ARKIV = PRODUCT ARCHIVE. I would like it to say Väggdekor shop instead. Where do I edit this?

    Hi,

You can alter those in WordPress SEO -> Title and Meta -> Post Types -> Arkiv för Custom Post Types options to set both the achieve title and the meta and description.

Did you have two h1 tags placed on the pages?

    Let us know,

    Thanks,
    laranz.

Sweetheart, I have filled in working titles and meta with Yoast on several hundred pages. The only page that it doesn’t work for is my webshop archive page. I’m suspecting it has something to do with that it is WooCommerce, but I’m not sure. Please see attached images of how I filled everything in.

I have not made two H1 on purpose and whatever “title box” I remove back end, the H1 doesn’t disappear. It gets it by code via WooCommerce somehow, right?

Does it have anything to do with the last image of http://monroedesign.se/product_tag-sitemap.xml? “Product tag” is the only reported problem on my site map, when checked in Google Webmaster Tools.

    Hi,

    1. Not there, you need to change it here. WordPress SEO -> Title and Meta -> Post Types -> Arkiv för Custom Post Types, I already set that. See it here: http://take.ms/vWBSh
    2. Which thing you used to create sitemap??

    Let us know,

    Thanks,
    laranz.

    Hi Laranz!

    1. AAAAAHHHHH! NOW I see! Cool. Thanx! Awesome! OK, so the “Custom post types archive” overrides whatever i write back end in Yoast on my individual Shop archive page. Please see my attached image with the visual question. How would you solve this issue with double H1?

    2. I used the plugin Google XML Sitemap and connected my site to my Google webmaster tools account through the button “site map” in Yoast. It was the first time I set this stuff up. Seems to work but I’m obviously not a pro.

Thanx for helping me with this. I see now I’m asking something that is not part of theme support. But it’s a challenge in the beginning trying to do everything right for good SEO. 🙂

    Hi,

    1. Yes, WordPress SEO took care of the titles, but I see the source of this page http://monroedesign.se/shop-vaggdekor/ and it has only one H1 tag, so no need to worry.
    2. Sorry that is a third party plugin, we can’t give support for that unfortunately.

    Let us know,

    Thanks,
    laranz.

    OK. Cool! Thanx, Laranz.

Only one more thing, an SEO expert told me the source code on my pages is super long and full of extra seemingly useless code. He said that after inspecting my index page but he said it was the case on the whole site. Is that something with the theme? I’m just worried because I do have speed issues and I’ve been making images between 50-200 KB. Nothing high res. And I am using optimizing plugins. The shop page is worst.

    Hi,

We only place the necessary code, we don’t like to add code that doesn’t do anything. 🙂

That assumption from that SEO Expert don’t make sense, he would have to spend many many days to analyze all the code to be able to conclude something like that(and it’s not true).

Try to deactive all plugins except Woocommerce to see the site speed. Some plugins can slow down the installation.

If that is not the problem, so I guess it’s related to the capacity of your hosting.

We use WP-Engine and we are very happy with them.
You can also use some Cache plugins like W3 Total Cache and CDN plugin or CloudFlare for the images.

    Hola!

I trust you, so I’m sure you’re right. I just didn’t know what to answer him. He is one of the best in his his field in the world, from what I understand.

The hosting I doubt because they have moved me twice to a faster server with less crowding. Loopia.se is one of the best hosting companies in Sweden.

But then again, who am I to judge? I’m just trying to figure this stuff out.

    I’ve been deactivating plugins too.

Could it be something with how the product thumbs are created on the shop page? The individual product pages have a lot of variables visualized in the 20 images per item. I understand that takes speed, but it shouldn’t affect the shop archive page with all the thumbs of products, right?

    Hi,

The website loads faster for me ( even I am using a 512Kbps speed internet now, you heard it right. ) and also it gives good results while checking for speed test http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/b8LaYj/http://monroedesign.se/shop-vaggdekor/ , server is good too, there is nothing wrong. What codes he seems is long and not relevant, could you tell us, so that we can help you to explain it.

    Thanks,
    laranz.
