    Hi there,
    I need each Portfolio Item to link to a custom URL – not the portfolio item page. Also the custom URL needs to load in the same tab _self. I read another similar support thread and I have tried editing the sf-portfolio.php as follows:
    I have changed: $permalink = get_permalink();
    To this: $item_link = sf_get_post_meta($post->ID, ‘sf_portfolio_external_link’, true);
    But this just links back / reloads the main portfolio page… hmm…
    Can you offer any other suggestions or guidance?
    Thanks,
    Sue

    Hi kyle,
    I have already set the Thumbnail Meta Options to link to an Extrnale URL.
    http://lazydaystest.lazydays.ie/our-campers/
    The main Portfolio picture now links to my external URL but the Portfolio Item Title still links to the portfolio page – I need all links to go to my external link. Is this possible?
    Also when I include the portfolio widget in my sidebar (e.g.: http://lazydaystest.lazydays.ie/blog/) the thumbnails link to the portfolio page – in this instance I also need the thumbnails to link to my external link. Is this possible?
    I have external product & booking pages so this is essential to the page flow for my site!
    Fingers crossed,
    Sue

    Hi Sue,

    Unfortunately this is not possible without extensive modifications. You can hire a developer to assist you:

    Thanks.

    Hi David,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I can always hide the portfolio widget in the sidebar…
    Just to be sure: Is it not possible even for the Portfolio Item Title to link to an external URL?
    Or is my only option (without hiring a developer) to turn off the portfolio title?
    Thanks for your help.
    Sue

    Hi

    You can keep the title, just disable the link with this css:

    .portfolio-item-details .link-to-post {
      pointer-events: none;
    }

    Hi Kyle,

    I have the same issue. I need to link to a specific URL (image & title/subtitle). Unfortunately your css code is not working. I want to disable title, if possible also subtitle. Please, could you help me?

    Best regard,
    Maja

    Hi Maja,

    Can you provide a link to the page where you are seeing this, so we can check and provide a solution for you?

    Thanks,

    Ed
