    Hi there,

Is it possible to disable hidden products from the search?

Example: Type ‘voucher’ into search (right icon in our nav) and the first product ‘Sign Up Voucher’ is a hidden product. We don’t want products like this to show, as they are being purchased by customers.

Secondly, we only want to visually split the products that are in stock and out of stock. There is an out of stock tag when you click into the product but is it possible to show the tag on the search level?

    Many Thanks,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for the feedback, for the AJAX search this is not something I can provide a snippet of CSS to hide the hidden products as such. What plugin are you using to set the hidden products? Can you attach the zip file here?

I can likely feed this back to the team for testing & investigation.

    Thanks.

    Hi David,

We are using WooCommerce core to control product visibility to: hidden.

Every product has a field that allows it to be hidden so it doesn’t display in our shop, however this is still being indexed in our search.

    Thanks,
    Andy

Thanks Andy, in that case we can likely pass this into the search to the hide those products.

I’ll report this back to the team.

    Thanks.

    Hi Andy,

I spoke to the lead dev regarding this and it should be in the next update I believe.

    Thanks.

    Hi David,

We have tested the search on the updated theme (1.9.4) and are having all kinds of issues. The search currently doesn’t return results it should and when it finally does find a product that is the only result it will display no matter what you search for.

I’ve attached a video of the issues we are having.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

Can you add a WP login, my search is stable and I do not get the fuzzy matches you see.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

There looks to be a custom JS yel_javascript_overlay() fcuntion that is returning various errors, these can be seen in the console log. Is that a plugin or a custom modification you have done? These errors can cause other JS elements to stop working.

    Thanks.

    Hi David,

We have deactivated the plugin that was causing the javascript error but it hasn’t fixed the issue we are having with the search. It is still not returning any results.

I am getting an ‘Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token <‘ error in the console. Not sure if that is helpful.

    Thanks,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

Can you disable all plugins whilst we test (Leave the Swift Framework active and Woo), somewhere either via a plugin or some custom JS there is an error causing this.

It outputs No forms were found in the console log.

    Thanks.

    Hi David,

We’ve disabled all the plugins and are still having problems with the search.

    Thanks,
    Andy

Please add us a WP login, please ensure all plugins are disabled and also disable your child theme – I still see the JS error.

    THanks.
