I created a revolution slider with various layers, including a ‘button’ in one layer for page linking purposes. Everything works fine in Firefox on my PC, but when I view it with Safari on my Mac and my iPad, there are problems.
On both machines, the button layer does not show up. The slider does everything else fine on the Mac. On the iPad, however, it closes out the Safari application after maybe one go round of the slider, sometimes less. I removed the button layer, but still the same problem with the iPad. I checked it with my daughter’s iPad as well – same thing, but it seemed to last a lot longer before shutting off the Safari app. She has an iPad 2 and mine is an iPad 4.
Any suggestions? I’d like for everything to work correctly on any computer and mobile device.
September 4, 2013 at 4:22 pm #19911Okay – now the buttons show up and the links work on the iPad and the Mac….gremlins! However, the Safari app on the iPad still continues to shut down while the slider is running for some reason.
I’d still appreciate any thoughts or suggestions about this.
Thanks!
September 5, 2013 at 5:39 pm #20113Do you have extremely large images in your slider or are they cut and formated exactly like they need to be? How large in KB are they?
Are you using complicated layer structures?September 5, 2013 at 6:17 pm #20143Hi Melanie.
The images are only 400 x 400. There are 3 sliders with 1 image each.
Just 4 lines of text for each slide and 1 button on each slide. Nothing real fancy.
The largest image is only 120 kb.
All layers have some sort of animation, but not complicated.

September 6, 2013 at 2:10 pm #20324Hi Glen,
What version do you have installed ?. There is only one issue which could bring the mobile/tablet device to break. Please overwrite the transparent.png file in this path: plugins/revslider/images/transparent.png with a 100×100 big image. It seems that the upscaling of the 10×10 image makes the device crazy. (it is only an idea).
Let me knowThanks
September 10, 2013 at 12:30 pm #20989Hi Tahir.
Thanks for the suggestion, but it did not work. There was also a transparent.jpg file, so I tried replacing it as well.
I’ll copy back the original files and perhaps you might be able to think of something else I can try.
Thank you!
Glen
September 11, 2013 at 10:23 am #21147Hey there, Tahir would like to know which version you have installed ๐ Cheers
September 11, 2013 at 11:29 am #21185Hi Melanie.
Yes, he did ask and I forgot – a few things going on at the same time around here, including Tropical Storm Gabrielle passing over the island, last night!
I have version 3.0.1 of the Revolution Slider.
Regards,
Glen
September 11, 2013 at 1:04 pm #21223Hi Glen,
Please update to latest version 3.0.98 . Unfortunately version 3.0.1 to 3.0.5 were not stable. A Major update is also under way ๐ .
Thanks
September 11, 2013 at 7:14 pm #21288Thanks, Tahir. I just need to know how I to do this since the Revolution Slider came with the Neighborhood Theme.
September 12, 2013 at 3:28 pm #21481Hi, here’s Revolution slider Version 3.095 โ http://cl.ly/RBPd
September 12, 2013 at 6:48 pm #21534Thanks very much, Melanie! I download and updated the slider but, unfortunately, still have the same issue viewing it on the iPad. Not sure what to do about it.
Also, I had 3 slides in my Home Page revolution slider and each has an “action button” to click on to visit the product page. All work fine. However, I added one more slide to the slider and set everything the same as the others (checked it many, many time!), but the “action button” won’t take me to the new product page.
Am I limited to only 3 slides somehow? I haven’t found any settings to control that, unless I’ve been going through this so many times that I’m not seeing the forest through the trees!
Any words of wisdom on this would also be much appreciated.
September 12, 2013 at 8:05 pm #21543Just a little more info about the “action button” not working in the new slide……. When I click on it, it shows this, for example:
website name/product name
The other slides, using the same Slide Link type of coding, show up like this when I click the action button:
website name/product/product name
For some reason, this 4th slide doesn’t access the “product” directory in the link address line when doing the link action.
September 13, 2013 at 1:51 pm #21781Please ignore the 4th slider problem. I didn’t change any of the coding, but decided to just remove the “Featured Image” and put it right back again – now it works!
Friday the 13th in reverse? ๐
Still have the iPad issue, though.
