Replacing our old theme without disruption

Our firm LP Analyst (www.lpanalyst.com) implemented a WordPress theme called Perfekto a couple of years back and would like to replace with the beautiful Dante theme.

Does anyone have advice for how best to implement Dante ‘behind the scenes’ without interrupting our old website? As I am a novice so this will likely take a few weeks to do but we cannot as a professional firm have our website down for that long a period of time. I’m just looking for the cleanest way to develop and then flip the switch on the new site. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bill,

You can use the Theme Test Drive plugin to preview the site with the theme enabled (without it going live) but unfortunately in terms of development of new site, you’d likely want to set up a new test build site for it.

You could theoretically create new pages and preview them using the test drive, then swap these all over a launch day.
